Re: how to select a font by a script or key
Uwe Brauer (2013-10-10 12:16): Hello I basically want to use 2 fonts in my text. Selecting them via the GUI is cumbersome since I have to dig to a long list of fonts. Is there any script or function which I could bind to a key which allows me to speed up this selection? You should define character or paragraph styles and apply them from styles sidebar. Re: Fwd: change default window size
carrt7 . (2013-10-03 00:08): A small irritating fault: when a user opens OoWriter full-screen, then hits the smaller-window icon, he is faced with a window that STILL occupies almost his entire screen! This is a typical Gates-type fault. Oo can't know what size window the user wants, but there is just one size he *certainly* doesn't want - and it's full-screen! Can this be improved? carrt7 Just change the size of the window and Windows should remember it next time. It's a window manager thing, not really AOO responsibility. Polish language pack for AOO 4
Hi. I see Localization Planning [1] page is a bit empty ;-). So what are the localization plans? There seem to be no Polish language for AOO 4 release (juding by the RC snapshot [2]). Is there some translation progress page somewhere (percent of translated strings by modules or things like that). [1] = https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/Localization+Planning [2] = https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/Development+Snapshot+Builds#DevelopmentSnapshotBuilds-AOOSnapshotlanguagepacks Regards, Nux. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
Re: [DISCUSS] ODF file formats vs Zip
Kadal Amutham (2013-06-10 03:40): To reduce the save time, split the files into many, and have links between files. This Feature should be available in AOO. Then your saving time will be much faster. In case of file corruption due to any reason, only that file get corrupted and the remaining file may remain safe With Warm Regards V.Kadal Amutham 919444360480 914422396480 Would be extremely helpful if OO would allow creating a master document that would automatically link chapters (allowing going back and forth, adding new one, adding existing file as a chapter...). Then you would have to be able to easily generate common TOC and merge documents into single PDF and such things. This would make the scenario feasible. Otherwise it's kind of in practical to divide documents. Re: Open office issues.
Dan Cowell (2013-04-03 04:04): Hi there, I’m not sure is I’m going about this the correct way but I have an issue with Open Office. I recently downloaded the program to my new dell tablet, which runs on windows 8 pro, but when I try open it I get a message that reads; This application cannot be started. [context=shared] caught unexpected exception! Any help that can be offered would be greatly appreciated. P.s It runs fine on my windows 7 laptop. There is a free downgrade option :-). You just need to borrow a Windows 7 CD/DVD from someone and after installation call Microsoft to register your copy. -- Maciej Jaros e-mail: mac...@mol.com.pl WWW: www.mol.pl tel: 58 669 80 90 fax: 58 669 80 91
Re: spell check
Alan Cliffe (2013-03-14 02:39): The spell check feature in my copy of AOO has stopped working. If I click the autospellcheck icon, with the squiggly red line, it underlines every word of my text as a misspelling. If I click the Spelling and Grammar icon, with the blue check mark, it just shows the first word of a sentence in red and says the word is not in the dictionary. It doesn't matter what word it is; it does it for very common words such as “if” or “and.” Any ideas? Check language that is setup for your document or paragraph. Language for current paragraph should be visible in the status bar.
