Re: data plot

@ Maximilian.
im not sure, but maybe your experience with calc is ridiculously limited and
you should spend 5 to 10  minutes more to explore the proram. my hint to you:
there are a menubar on top and some buttons with main functions. with left
mousebutton you can select cells and active buttons.

 Hello,

Why is it not possible to plot datasets of different x- and y- values

Sorry, but I think that the diagram options are ridiculously limited.

Can you give us some sample data sets that you want to plot
simultaneously?  I, at least, don't grasp the problem.

BUG: compatibility problem with LibreOffice

2014-03-26 Thread kalle hauser
I found a compatibility bug between AOO 4.0.1 calc and LibreOffice 4.2.2.1 calc
(portable-apps-version)

Test System: Windows Vista 32-bit

i copied some cells with simple data from Libreoffice and paste them into AOO.

In AOO the data is not filled regular into the cells, the copied range of cells
is inserted as an element

The reverse way (copy from AOO, paste into LO) works normal.

reproduce:

Open LO calc, fill some cell with number.

copies this cells (Ctrl+c)

Open AOO calc, paste the cell (Ctrl+c)

can someone confirm this behaviour?

2 thinks for the future

2014-01-21 Thread kalle hauser
2 things to think about for the future of AOO:

Im using Star/OpenOffice since 1996 on desktop-machines.

In the last years the mobile market rised up and pushed the ARM-architecture to
new highs. now its a wide spread competitor to the old king x86.

I think its time for the AOO develops to think about to support ARM like they
do with x86-cpus dont do the same mistake as e.g. intel and oversleep
trents...

And the second thing: Hope there is an auto-updater for patches soon this
feature is missing for over 10 years!!!

otherwise: keep up the good work.

best regards

K. Hauser

Screenshots on website???

2013-07-23 Thread kalle hauser
Hi all,
Im reading the comments of users in some german forums about AOO 4 at the
moment.

One user aked for screenshots, becuase he couldnt find any on the official
website.

I think it would be a good idea to put some scrennshots from writer, clac
impress on the site I want to learn more about OpenOffice

AOO-Members dont forget voting

for the RC2 to be released as AOO 4.0 (or even not) on

http://www.marshut.com/rrypt/release-openoffice-4-rc2.html

;-)

My question to this:

it seems, that not one IT-website in the internet knows about a RC of AOO 4.
why you dont start a PR-campain for the new AOO 4 and make a public testing of
the RC?

Like SuperKK on the AOO blog says: You need to work on your PR. Why were there
no public beta announcements? The LibreOffice propaganda machine has already
convinced many people that OO is dead. Release early, release often.

After finishing work on the major-release AOO4, i hope you bring out
bugfix-releases more often than all 6 - 8 month. i my opinion bugfixreleases
all 3-4 month would be a good intervall...

btw: i switched to LO 3.5/3.6, after the OOo-develpoment was on-ice/
incubating, but a comparisen of LO4.0 and AOO3.4.1 shows 1 important thing: You
Apache-Guys need longer to bring an new release and implement new features, but
the quality of your product seems to be higher

e.g LO announces improvments on Load/Save-speed over and over angain, but in
the end, AOO 3.4.1 starts faster than LO 3.6. The improvments on the
docx/xlsx/pptx-filters in LO are also not as good as yours.

keep up the good work!

Bug in Shapes-textures on 3D-extrusion-mode

2013-07-18 Thread kalle hauser
I reported a bug: https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=122777
can someone confirm this behavior?

best regards
K. Hauser

***
Description:Bug 122777-3D Extrusion changes quality of Bitmap-texture
In all components (writer, calc, draw, impress) of AOO 4.0 RC1 i found a
strange behavior while i worked with shapes and the 3D-extrusion-function. Open
Calc (or draw or writer),draw a star-shape
change the surface-texture to bitmap and choose e.g. mercury (dt: quecksilber)
Activate the 3D-extrusion for the shape
Now in 3D-Mode the quality of the surface-bitmap gets very low (see attachment)
this bug do not occur on every try with ever shape and every texture in all
component. Mostly it occurs in calc with a star-shapes, but also other shapes
and textures show this behavior (but not all constantly) Testsystem: Win XP SP2
(32-bit)
Debian 6.0 (32-bit)

2013-07-17 Thread kalle hauser
Can someone confirm my bugreport Bugzilla Bug 122770
(https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=122770)

its about the Textstring Ausrichtung on Calc (German location):

Wrong symbol in Ausrichtung on Calc Sidebar

In AOO 4.0.0 RC1 Calc (build 9702, rev 1502185)
I have a wrong symbol (~) in the word Ausrichtung (english: alignment). On
Sidebar its Ausric~htung instead of Ausrichtung

Sidebar Content Panel - UX Design proposals

2013-05-14 Thread kalle hauser
On the website

http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/AOO_UX_Design_Exploration_-_Task_Pane_Content_Panel_-_User_Interface_Design_Proposals

all interested user can see some proposals for the new sidebar in AOO 4.

My question to this:

will Apache start a survey to find the most popular design or will it be
possible to switch between the different styles???

btw I prefer Proposal A-styles.
My favorite from the A-Sytles is Proposal 2. Grey Title + White Panel
