Lost Spreadsheet

2023-11-29 Thread Eugene Hacker
I was updating a spreadsheet that had a lot of previous data on it
when the system reacted strangely and came back with a spreadsheet
that was completely blank.
I tried to restart OpenOffice to see if I had a copy that needed to be
restored. There was no indication a a bad file.
My question is, can I locate a previous version of my spreadsheet as I
have not saved any new copy since.
Is there any way to access a previous version from any directory that
might have a copy of my previous version of my spreadsheet

Being asked for name/initials on opening OpenOffice suggests that you closed
your computer before OpenOffice had written its housekeeping to disk.

If the files as missing from OO's /File /Recent documents, it should still be
in the directory in which it was originally saved. Start OpenOffice from
Programs button, use /File /Open and its navigation buttons to navigate to that
directory, select the file and press Open. It will open, and once again appear
on Recent Documents, which shows only the last ten files opened.
