Have a look at

see if
any of that palettes can help you out.

On my Windows the files for the palettes (with the extension .soc) are in
D://AppData/Roaming/OpenOffice/4/user/config

If you have your own palette back it might be useful to copy it as standard.soc.

I agree. I thought of buying a car, but discovered that one has to
take driving lessons and pass a test and learn all about licences and
insurance, so I gave up. And I was tempted to invest in a piano, but
again it seems I would have to take lessons in order to be able to play it ...

Good: we agree on that. But I espouse learning.

Having said that, I love this application suite much better than MS Office.
Okay, so it does not have some items we have become used to in their suite
of apps, but no biggie as far as I can tell.

Thanks again for such a great apps.

For a computer a document can be anything e.g. a Word document, a
Drawing, a Spreadsheet or a Photo.
The computer rely on the users to define the type of document e.g. .doc,
.odt, .pdf or .jpg
Most applications saves with the correct file type, but allow to change

Depend on the data and what you like to achieve.
Hence giving an example of the data and what the report should look like
will help us to answer your question.

1. I found this on converting Lotus Approach.  It converts to Excel format;
OpenOffice can read Excel files, so you can read these and convert into a
database format supported by OpenOffice.

2. Beyond my immediate knowledge.

Please help me resolve this problem

2014-08-17 Thread Kathryn Silverton

Greetings,

How do I correct the following:

There is a red underscore under every word, even when it is spelled
correctly. The only way I have found to get rid of it is to go to

Tools
Language
For all text
None

This disables spell check completely.

Seeing the red underscore under every word is annoying and not helpful.

Thank you most kindly. Other than this issue, I very much enjoy using
Open Office.

 Katheryn,
The list members would be able to be of better help if you
included in your question the application that is red-underlining
 the words that you type.

I'm informed by private email that the problem was solved by deleting or
renaming the OpenOffice User Profile.
