Eric;

This is a sympton of corruption in the user profile forOpen Office. To
fix this see the following how to on the wike:

https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/How_Tos/Handling_the_OpenOffice.org_User_Profile#Moving_User_Settings.

It will tell you where the profile is, and how to reset it.

Re: Format for Header & Footer

2020-12-19 Thread David Belina
Open Office has a Wiki and I did a web search and found this page that has how
to do header’s and footers (about the third topic on the page).  If your custom
header or footer was done in OpenOffice you might be able to copy and paste the
text but I think other attributes will need to be viewed and manually revised.

Easy way:
o Position the cursor in the cell immediately after the relevant text.
o Press the spacebar.
o Backspace over the space to delete it.

More generally:
o Select not the entire cell but the required text within that cell.
o Insert | Hyperlink.
o Etc.

Go to Format | Page, select the Page tab and set the desired size.

It is helpful to include which component of AOO you are asking about;
fortunately the above advice is the same for Writer, Calc, Impress and Draw.

so I had a hypothesis which didn't pan out: thought it might correlate
with copying and pasting from the browser or from other people's
documents (I get several docs from people I have to comment on).
however, I clearly get the effect on opening a new document.

so it passed all your tests. I don't have many other apps to try but
nothing like this occurs in Kate or in Kword (hmm..., interesting,
never looked at this before!) or even in Calc from the AO suite.

I forgot to play with this on my office computer but I think not it
doesn't happen there. I forgot to fetch that default.ott and try it
here; will fetch it next time I'm at that machine. (also Linux,
Debian; I believe same version of AO.)

will keep scratching.

I had, I recall, rooted around in those settings but it was good to
have another look. all these settings look 'kosher'.

the problem has cleared up though. here is my hypothesis but I don't
know if it makes sense: perhaps my default.ott was
misconfigured/corrupt (I make adjustments relatively often) and it
'caught something'.

I don't know why I didn't immediately see a change when I replaced it
with an older copy, I don't know when it gets loaded. I usually do not
restart AO but maybe I had. loaded a document that gave me the problem
and there's no problem now.

I much appreciate the good advice!

There is a User-defined format option. A telephone number format can be
entered as (00)-000-000-000 for example.
If you enter 01234567890 it will display as (01)-234-567-890. Keep in
mind that formats can differ based on the country.
If you have friends in different countries you should create multiple
formats and work with Conditional Formatting.

Hallo,

 From: guss.rich...@t-online.de [mailto:guss.rich...@t-online.de]

Formel in MS Excel 2003 vollkommen gleich verhält.

Bei J9 = 3 und K9 = 2

--Fehlermeldung Err:502 (AOO 4.0)
--Fehlermeldung #WERT! (MS Excel 2003)

Bei J9 = 1 und K9 = 2

-- -00:00 (AOO 4.0)
-- -00:00 (MS Excel 2003)
