[users] OO 2.0.2 on linux (FC5) slow under KDE
Hi, I'm running Fedora Core 5 and run the KDE desktop. Previously I have run other FC releases and OO has run just fine under KDE. However, with the latest FC5 version of )) (2.0.2) I have observed that OO causes KDE to run slowly, and runs slowly itself. Observerations I have made are 1. OO runs fine under gnome 2. Under KDE, the icons are different and generally the application is a lot less responsive. 3. Under some circumstances, such as when using impress and have a text box highlighted (i.e. with a grey box outline around it). Somehow OO causes the KDE desktop itself to become VERY slow (many seconds for menus to appear, whereas without OO running there are no delays). I strongly suspect the KDE integration in this release is not working well. Has anyone else observed similar problems ? Is there any way I can disable the KDE integration for tests ? Re: [users] OO 2.0.2 on linux (FC5) slow under KDE
I suspect that it may be RedHats build that is the problem. Can you download and try the version of OOo from http://openoffice.org ? Hi, I tried, but all I get is [EMAIL PROTECTED] /data/download/OO/OOB680_m5_native_packed-1_en-US.9011/RPMS /opt/openoffice.org2.0/program/simpress no suitable windowing system found, exiting. ? - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I should add - running from gnome via the desktop menu icon also does not work - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[users] Configuring LDAP server connection
I have OOo v1.1.3 running on Fedora Core 3. I am trying to configure OOo to access an openldap address book I am setting up, without much success. When, following the instructions in the help screen, I select ToolsData SourcesGeneral and then select the data type Address Book, there is _not_ an option to select LDAP Address Book, only a Data Source URL of sdbc:address:evolution. What is missing here, and how do I install the missing element? TIA -- Chris Jones - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The error is:- | Error while connecting to the data source | A driver is not registered for the URL. sdbc:address:ldap How do I correct this omission? what driver is required? [users] Configuring Address Book - howto implement link to openldap
Apologies for repeating this question, but after 24 hours, no-one seems to have responded and I do rather need a solution to this question. I am trying to configure an address book datasource using openldap. When I run the wizard in Write, it comes up with the following error: A driver is not registered for the URL sdbc:address:ldap. Can anyone tell me what this means and how I can get this feature implemented? I am running OpenOffice on Fedora Core 3 (OOo v1.1.3). I have my openldap address book set up with a sample of addresses and now want to set this up in OOo.
