Mike, I went to Java.com and the material stated that Java version 1.5.0 was
the correct one for Windows ME. I downloaded that version to a flash drive.
The installation information, however, stated that the computer would have to
be connected to the I-net in order to be installed. I left a message on the
feedback venue asking how to handle that problem. Thanks for your help and
interest.

Correction - i suddenly realised, Windows ME as an update of Windows 98
is no longer supported in the latest release.
