Sam, please send a new message, rather than replying to an existing one,
when you are changing topics. This is considered to be hijacking a thread,
and (a) means that only people who are following the original thread, rather
than all those on the list, will see your question; and (b) it interferes
with the message threading for those who are trying to follow the original
 discussion.

Did you see my earlier response to this question? To repeat:

This would not seem to have anything to do with OOo, which does not open
up websites -- that's a browser function, and unless IE7 is broken or you
have disabled something the site needs (like maybe cookies) you should not
have an issue with that. What exactly do you see when you try? Look up
towards the top of the screen and see if there's any kind of error
 indication about something being blocked.

think that it was a bug, but installing LibreOffice 3.3 in it's place
 took care of that.

 Thanks, though!

If all you wish to do is _read_ the PDFs, you only need a reader, not
the full Acrobat (which allows editing/creating PDFs). The reader is a
free download from the Adobe site, and is not time limited in any way.

Hi, OpenOffice 3.1/3.2 can read documents saved with previous versions of
OpenOffice, so you should have no problem at all.
Just open the folder where you have your documents and doubleclick on a
document. It should open with your new OpenOffice version.

We could help you better if you describe in greater detail what is the
 problem you are having.

 Hi Caroline,

Did they by chance upgrade their versions of Office? MS made changes in
the last round of Office so that older formats do not work, even from older
