[users] Import PDF table

2007-10-31 Thread Bill - CIMCO
I find that most pdf documents (especially when documents being
circulated within an organization) allow a table to be copied. Most of
these, in our organization, originated from Word or OO anyway. When I
copy a table using the select tool in Adobe Reader, I can paste this
same text right into my OO Writer.

You can experiment by using Paste Special, and try the different
options, like paste unformatted, paste RTF, and so on.

I tried a table just now and it copied correctly into an OO table
without trouble. I checked using the paste special command, and it was
pasting the RTF text choice.

I think you can only cut and paste from PDF.

I receive a number of PDF documents that contain tables. Is there anyway
to import a table directly into Writer or Calc?

TIA

Hi!

I'm looking for the same thing. At the moment I found only Acrobat
itself can copy pdf tables and reach format text. If you found such
utility, please let me (and others) know about it.

Don't believe so. Since PDF's are normally rendered as images, the
best you'll probably do is to use something like 'capture screen
portion' then paste into OOo.

In Adobe, there is a 'select image' function which allows you to
select a portion of the screen that you want to capture.
