Re: [users] Adding to dates
Physically enter the date you want in cell A1. Re: [users] Adding to dates
Richard, you solved the problem. I opened a new spreadsheet, formatted the cells to dates and enter a date in A1. Cell B1 came up with Jan 2, 00. I then entered the date in A1 as 9/29/09 and it worked. The problem was that in A1 I was typing Sept 29, 09 as the date so I was not actually entering a date in A1. Can you attach a file that shows an example of what you're seeing? Or else send it to me directly? Like I said, the formula seems to work fine when I started up a new Calc file and entered the information. So it might be helpful to see your actual file (take out anything that might be confidential before sending it, of course, or else just start up a new file and put in what you're talking about in cells A1, B1, and C1. When I enter today's date (9/29/09) in A1, and the enter the formula =A1+3 in B1, the result is 10/02/09, like it should be. And when I enter =A1+8 in cell C1, the result is 10/07/09, like it should be. I do not have an asterisks in the formula. Somehow the asterisks was added to what I said in the Email.
