Helps if you [thoroughly] read the original query, doesn't it? :-( And placing the mouse pointer at the edge is an Excel thing, you don't need to do that in OpenOffice.org. Just place it anywhere in the cell range and move it. If you want to move a single cell, you need to make sure it is highlighted, for example by selecting two cells and then move the mouse pointer back to the first cell again without releasing the mouse button, or by Shift+Click on the cell you want to highlight and then move it. I also went back and confirmed this after clicking Send. I very seldom have the occasion/need to move cells, but this -- like so many other things -- is so much easier in OOo than in MSO. Thanks for the Shift+Click tip for moving a single cell. I had never used or known about that one. I usually just copy/pasted, then deleted original cell contents. Also, I'll admit that, while I've used Writer for years (due to the ease of creating an alphabetized index), I hadn't really used Calc all that much until my switch to Linux.
