Re: [users] Open Office problem in Kubuntu Feisty

2007-09-09 Thread S Perry
Is this a new installation? or a new problem arising in a previous
installation? What version of OpenOffice are you using?

  Hello there,
I have a problem when I am trying to fire up open office by either clicking
the button on menu, or from a shell ("ooffice -writer").

The Open Office splash screen would appear, but then nothing would happen
afterwards. I have provided here the log when I tried to start Open Office
from the command line and hope that any of you could help.

Thanks.

Best regards,
Gordon

RE: [users] Open Office problem in Kubuntu Feisty

2007-09-10 Thread Leach, William R
I am not in a position to give you specific help, unfortunately. But I
can tell you the nature of the problem. You have a device defined in
your xf86config file that you do not have on your computer (probably one
of the drawing tablets).

I believe that just commenting out the device will "fix" the problem.
The real problem is more complex of course since there should be nothing
wrong with having devices defined in the X config file that you don't
have on the computer.

I'm sorry that I can't be more specific but it has been too long since I
ran into the problem and just don't remember more about it.
