Re: [ovirt-users] 答复: 答复: How to Use VLAN?

2014-11-23 Thread Lior Vernia
Hi Xie,

Yes, that's exactly what it means, and you indeed need to create a VLAN
device manually and then choose it in the interactive script. CCing
Sandro to assist with how this is most easily done.

Yours, Lior.

Re: [ovirt-users] USB redirect

2014-11-23 Thread Lev Veyde
Hi Michal,

As far as I know there is no need to install something inside VM for the Native
USB redirection to function properly, thus nothing related is included on the
oVirt WGT ISO.

The user/admin only needs to properly configure the VM for Native USB
redirection and install the Spice client.

I forwarded the issue to the Spice team, they could properly point to the issue.

Thanks in advance,
Lev Veyde.

Seems to me that the problem is in /etc/httpd/conf.d/ovirt-engine.conf,
which seems like a left-over from 3.2. This should have been deleted by
the upgrade from 3.2 to 3.3. Couldn't see in your attachments a log of
this upgrade (done probably 1+ years ago). Such a log should have been
in /var/log/ovirt-engine/setup. If you can't find such a log, and/or if
you suspect other problems you encountered due to problems in this
upgrade, I suggest that you install another engine (e.g. in a temp VM)
with configuration as similar as possible to your existing one, and compare
all relevant files (/etc/httpd, /etc/ovirt-engine*) between them and try
to understand what needs fixing.

This specific file can (and should) safely be deleted.

Best,

Hi,

Please try to restart the VM by performing a shut down or power off, power on,
and verify that the service is started by running.

sudo systemctl status ovirt-guest-agent.service

Please update me if the data is now being collected to the history database.

You can check v3_6_statistics_vms_resources_usage_hourly view.

[ovirt-users] Is disk qcow2 format in the ovirt GUI?

2014-11-23 Thread Anthony Alba
I must be missing something in the GUI for ovirt 3.5 -

I can't find qcow2 as an option.

When I go to to Storage Domain -> Disk -> Add
I only see Allocation Policy without choice of format (cow or raw)

This also happens if I create VMs and then try to add disks.

Is cow only available in ovirt-shell?

Actually I am searching a backup and easy disaster recovery strategy.
I prefer to not put each vm on its lun because it seems very difficult to
manage. I would like to let ovirt manage my storage.
Snapshotting all storage can be an easy way to do backups if I can quickly
import again the storage domain and start an old version of a vm.
The other option I can evaluate is to use ovirt api for backups but, as far
as I know, there are no opensource backup solutions that use that api.
Am I right?
Thanks again,
Mario

[ovirt-users] Failed Glance Image Import Task Cannot Be Removed

2014-11-23 Thread Chris Routh
Greetings fellow mailing listers,

I've been using oVirt since September now, and using version 3.5
currently. When I first setup my small cluster I decided to import a
CentOS image from the glance image repository. However the first time I
tried it the import failed to complete. The problem is that oVirt has
not clued in that this import failed even 2 months and several reboots
of the entire cluster later. I ended up re-attempting the import a day
later (this is back in September) and it worked, however this invalid
task is still in my task list.

I tried using a few tricks from this mailing list when I encountered
this, one was to run a task removal script on the hosted-engine. However
while that removed other stale tasks like drive copying.. it never seems
to work for this import task. This task disappears when I run the
script, but reappears once the hosted-engine is restarted. It's stuck..
somewhere. I had settled on giving up on cleaning up this nuisance a
month ago, and had planned to forget about it; until today.

Today I am upgrading my storage pool from a simple NFS share on an old
linux server to a proper NFS volume on a new FreeNAS device. Everything
was smooth until I moved everything off the old NFS share and wanted to
put it into maintenance mode so I could cleanly remove it from the
datacenter. I cannot remove it. Attempting to remove it produces the
error:

Operation Canceled
Error while executing action: Cannot deactivate Data Domain while there
are running tasks on this data domain.
-Please wait until tasks will finish and try again.

So now I am forced to find the solution to removing this task. I know
the task's ID is 765780ce but how do I rid myself of this ghost once and
for all? Also important to mention I have noticed there is a 'Locked'
disk associated with this task.

Regards,

Chris Routh

[ovirt-users] Preview of a snapshot in the past: unable to open spice console

2014-11-23 Thread Gianluca Cecchi
Hello,
I have a CentOS 7 VM.
I make a snaphost at 16:40 with memory included.
Then at 17:05 shutdown VM and preview of the snapshot.
VM starts ok and initialy is at 16:40 (no ntp at the moment and no
ovrti-guest=-agent inside VM, only spice-vdagent and qemu-guest-agent)

When I try to open a spice console (that before preview worked ok) I get an
error window
Error while executing action SetVmTicket: Unexpected exception

and in webadmin gui:
user admin failed to initiate a console session for VM c7

in vdsm.log I get the error below.

I think it could depend on time set at VM level...

Actually even if I set the correct time inside VM I get the same error..

Note that I'm using qemu from virt-preview qemu-2.1.2-6.fc20.x86_64 but
when I was using the Active VM before the preview spice console worked ok...

Is this expected to not being able to open spice console in a snapshot
preview?

Hi Xie,

Yes, that's exactly what it means, and you indeed need to create a VLAN device
manually and then choose it in the interactive script. CCing Sandro to assist
with how this is most easily done.

Yours, Lior.

Hi Chou,

I use CentOS 6.5 apply all updates then it is now CentOS 6.6, Yes, the port
for sshd is already open by default, I tried to connect ssh from
hosted-engine to host vice versa and the connection is successful using
root user and even with the standard user. Now I'm trying to install CentOS
6.6 as a host and the oVirt-engine with the different server that meets the
hardware minimum requirements of the oVIrt, but still, I hope someone can
help me with this promlem.
