Yes, in principle. In practice take into account that you are actually performing also a complete engine "upgrade" (to same version if none newer is available), so prepare accordingly (backup etc). > The last question before validate tell "During execution engine service will > be stopped". Is my guests will continue to run? They will, but management will not be available, nor HA for VMs. engine-setup when installing reports will take somewhat longer, expect up to 10-20 minutes, less if faster system. Note that you need also ovirt-dwh to actually collect data. This used to be an automatic dependency in <=3.4, but in 3.5 each can run on its own machine. You might want to do that too, depending on your requirements/env/etc. You probably already know that if you got that far, because if you do not have dwh installed you are asked about credentials for its DB. [ovirt-users] Troubleshooting Windows SSO
Hi, I can't get SSO in the spice console to work The engine is linked to a windows AD domain ant users logon work fine In the vms I configured a gpo to enable SAS: Disable or enable software Secure Attention Sequence Enabled Set which software is allowed to generate the Secure Attention Sequence Services and Ease of Access applications Anyway SSO does not work, when I open the spice console as a user I'm presented with the usual Windows login screen ___ Users mailing list Users@ovirt.org http://lists.ovirt.org/mailman/listinfo/users
[ovirt-users] Question about manual pools and statefulness
Hi, as far as I understand Manual Pools should be "stateful" as long as the admin does not return the vm to the pool (removing the permissions). In my test lab I did the following: Created Windows template Sysprep and Shutdown Configured a manual pool with the above template Configure "Initial run" with domain membership and so on Assigned permissions to the pool Logged in in the user portal and launched my pool The vm starts up but in the admin portal I see the vm has a Stateless snapshot (read-only) "VM TestPoolMan-1 was restarted on Host kvm02 as stateless" Then in the user portal I shut down the vm and the stateless snapshot is removed "VM TestPoolMan-1 is down. Exit message: User shut down from within the guest" I powered up it again and now it is stateful (no snapshot) "VM TestPoolMan-1 was started by c.mamm...@apra.it (Host: kvm02)." So it's like the first time a user starts a vm in a manual pool it is stateless and from the second start it becomes stateful... ___ Users mailing list Users@ovirt.org http://lists.ovirt.org/mailman/listinfo/users
[ovirt-users] Pool with "latest template" does not sysprep when rebased
Hi again I created an automatic pool with a Win 7 template and Template sub version set to "latest" In the Pool I configured sysprep with domain membership and such I started the vms from the admin portal to make them sysprep then shutdown Then I created another template and set it to be a subversion of the above template. The vms in the pool get rebased but If I go in the pool options the sysprep configuration is gone (unflagged) and there is no way to re-enable it. If I login as a user and start one of the vms in the pool it does not sysprep and does not join the vm to the domain... What am I missing?? ___ Users mailing list Users@ovirt.org http://lists.ovirt.org/mailman/listinfo/users
