Unfortunately it's currently still not supported.
Probably the easiest option to gain some space is directly mounting an
NFS share inside the VM.

Re: [ovirt-users] Delete Failed to update OVF disks, OVF data isn't updated on those OVF stores (Data Center Default, Storage Domain hostedengine_nfs).

2016-04-04 Thread Paul Groeneweg | Pazion
I'd like to add:

- There are 2 OVF stores in my hosted_storage ( hostedengine_nfs ).
- I checked creation time, they are both created around the same time
http://screencast.com/t/hbXQFlou

So hopefully there is some way to update hosted storage sp it can be
updated.

As you can see in the screenshot the hostedengine storage is
unassigned and so both ovf_stores are OK, but not linked and therefore
  can't be updated?!

So for now I guess I'll wait for update 3.6.4 and cross my fingers
and updates solves the event log error.

Re: [ovirt-users] centos 7.1 and up & ixgbe

2016-04-04 Thread Johan Kooijman
Hi Jurrien,

I don't see anything in logs on the nodes itself. The only thing we see in
logs are in engine log - it looses connectivity to the host.
Definitely CentOS 7.1/7.2 related. Downgraded the hosts to ovirt-iso 3.5,
this resolves the issue.

[ovirt-users] oVirt 3.6.4 / PXE guest boot issues

2016-04-04 Thread David LeVene
Hey All,

Summary: ipxe fails to get DHCP address, but it works when I don't use ipxe eg
from iso installer.

I'm running into the same issue which is noted in this thread, but the
workaround they used didn't seem to work for me. I only change the rom images
on the 1 ovirt host, nothing else - but have since changed them back.

There's a few differences to the environment I setup as well and am looking for
any pointers.

http://lists.ovirt.org/pipermail/users/2015-March/031690.html

This is the config & a fresh build as of last week - so I'm using ovirt 3.6.4

1. All 3 physical hosts were built from a vanilla foreman server which
does everything (TFTP, DNS, DHCP, Puppet, and Puppet CA) - this is the same
server I'm trying to use for the guests, so I know it works for bare metal
hosts.

2. Ovirt engine was installed using the rpm bundle/image (Cent OS7)

3. 3 Node ovirt setup very close to this guide -
http://blogs-ramesh.blogspot.com.au/2016/01/ovirt-and-gluster-hyperconvergence.html

4. There is a VMFEX/SRIOV network setup in the oVirt config and this is
what is being used to provision the guest VM's

When I try and boot a host via PXE (have tried e1000 etc, but leaving as VirtIO
driver) it fails to get the DHCP address, I can see the broadcast traffic
hitting the foreman server, and the foreman server replying with an IP - but it
isn't getting to the guest, or the packets are getting corrupted. The UCS is
correctly identifying and seeing the MAC address, so that looks good as well
from the VMFEX side of things.

Tested the dhcp only component, so I grabbed an ISO and booted from a CD. The
installer correctly got its DHCP address and proceed to install. Once the host
was on-line it correctly got its IP via DHCP - So by this I've proven that a vm
guest can correctly receive DHCP packets when using the VMFEX network.

Open to any further suggestions - as when using this and a foreman
server/katello satellite pxe booting is kinda important!

Cheers

The issue is just here:
explicit static DNS configuration under
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-* is currently not allowed by
VDSM (see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1160667 ).
So, if you are going to use static network configuration, please
remove DNS1, DNS2... lines from /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-*
and just configure it with a nameserver line under /etc/resolv.conf
then systemctl restart network
Try deploying hosted-engine again: VDSM network configuration will not
touch /etc/resolv.conf and it will work.

Two things to check if going from the welcome page to the login page is THAT
show.

1. Make 100% sure your DNS is setup correctly (or your /etc/hosts if that is
what you use). If the engine cannot resolve itself, it will create lots of
issues.
2. If you are running hosted engine, make sure you have enough entropy, the
login page generates a couple of tokens using secure random, which eats away
at your entropy budget heavily and since hosted engine is a VM it is possible
that you don't have enough entropy. You can check your entropy level with
this:

cat /proc/sys/kernel/random/entropy_avail

There are several options for solving the entropy problem if that is the case.

Hi,

the host and VM are all up-to-date with latest packages for CentOS 7.*.

In /proc/cpuinfo I see "nx" in the flags list, the full list is on the
and of the mail.

Is it possible that this problem destroy the Windows Server 2012 R2 VM?
Now I start the third installation, hopefully this time it will not get
damaged. If it fails again I have to use another virtualization provider
and leave oVirt, and I was so happy to leave VMWare :°(

[ovirt-users] ovirt reports

2016-04-04 Thread Fernando Fuentes
Team,

I am trying to run an ovirt report (Summary of Host usage) and I get "No
Data Available"
The logs show no errors.

I am running oVirt Engine Version: 3.5.4.2-1.el6 with Ovirt Reports.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Re: [ovirt-users] Losing IP config on host

2016-04-04 Thread Rein van Weerden
Hi David,

Thanks for your reaction.

I’m using IPv4 addressing.
I upgraded to oVirt 3.6.4.1-1.el7.centos, but that did not solve the problem.

When i use the setupnetworks from the Python SDK it looks like the that the XML
that send to the oVirt engine has the ip address settings but they are not send
to the host (hypervisor). But the VDSM removes the network configuration. After
that the communication between the engine and the host is gone, obviously.
I include some logs.

nets.xml
Description: XML document

supervdsm.log
Description: Binary data

vdsm.log
Description: Binary data

[ovirt-users] VM's in ? Unknown state.

2016-04-04 Thread Tim Macy
Occasionally I have a single VM go into an "?" unknown state and the only
method of recovery is to kill the PID on the host. This happens once or
twice a week to 1 out of 500+ VM's. There is no pattern to this and VM
operating system doesn't seem to make any difference.

Logs are attached.
aus02gmovirt01 is the Engine
aus02gdc1kvm02 is the VM Host

I've checked the box and restarte the vm from the host hosted-engine --
vm-shutdown and then --vm-start.  Entropy on host and engine still
around 200 and it's taking a while to change pages but not as long as
it did before so I may have to add haveged.  I'll watch it and see.

Re: [ovirt-users] How to connect a VM with a port = -1

2016-04-04 Thread zhangjian

Hi, michal

# I have deleted the environment now.
engine was 3.6 (upgraded from 3.5) and host/compatibilty_level kept with
3.5.

is it the reason for my problem?
if yes, how to solve it? just upgrade the vdsm and change the cluster
compatibilty level to 3.6?

This issue happen consistently.

Is your engine side also 3.5?
Or are you running 3.6 engine with 3.5 hosts in 3.5 cluster
compatibilty level?

Hi guys,

I created a VM in ovirt, and I found it a port = -1, How can I
connect to it using like remote-viewer.

--
console.vv

[virt-viewer]
type=spice
host=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
port=-1
password=J4xu1swd59A5
# Password is valid for 120 seconds.
delete-this-file=1
fullscreen=0
title=test:%d
toggle-fullscreen=shift+f11
...
...
...
--

I usually use the following command to connect to my VM when it
has a positive value。
remote-viewer spice://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:590X

Hi,

-1 is what Engine sends to trigger auto allocation of spice ports
from libvirt on the virtualization Host.
Once the VM is booted, Vdsm should report the port allocated by
libvirt to Engine.

Does this happen consistently or just sporadically? Which version of
packages are you using?

Bests,

[ovirt-users] The engine- commands

2016-04-04 Thread Brett I. Holcomb
I've been playing these and wondering what these really do.  I know
engine-iso-uploader and engine-image-uploader really work since I've
used them but the others don't do anything useful or give me wrong
information.  I'm running these on the Engine VM in a hosted-engine
deployment with version 3.64.

engine-config list outputs nothing at all.  I won't try the others yet.
engine-manage-domains edit --domain=Adomain simply tells me the the
domain adomain does not exist and it's converted it all to lowercas

The log looks mostly ok to me.

Was this a normal, default setup?

Please post the output of:

su - postgres -c 'psql -c \\l'

su - postgres -c "psql -c 'SELECT pg_database.datname,
pg_size_pretty(pg_database_size(pg_database.datname)) FROM

grep DATABASE /etc/ovirt-engine/engine.conf.d/*
/etc/ovirt-engine-dwh/ovirt-engine-dwhd.conf.d/*

grep dbName /var/lib/ovirt-engine-reports/build-conf/master.properties

Please check 'engine-config -h', and also:
