service log for more details."



ovirt-engine-dwhd.log says:

I double checked all my VMs, they all have an interface assigned. Not 
sure what host_interface_samples_history_pkey is referring to.

You could do that, or look into full life cycle management with The Foreman.

Hi.
I'm trying to run a Ubuntu cloud image on oVirt 3.6. It works fine with the 
14.04 image or Centos 7 image but I have trouble with the 16.04 image : I have 
no network and cloud-init dont receive any data from oVirt. Also, the VM takes 
about 5 minutes to boot (then I cant login as cloud-init dont seem to work).
I've validated the 16.04 image : I can boot it fine on my workstation running 
kvm.

For oVirt 3.6.x, these are the rules:

The ENGINE can be hosted on EL 6 or EL7
The HOSTS cannot be EL 6 -- must be EL 7+ or Fedora (I don't recall the
version)

How to upgrade your hosts:

* Put the oVirt EL 6 host into maintenance (that is, migrating or shutting
down all GUESTS from that host)
* Remove that Host from the cluster
* Wipe and install EL 7 onto that physical machine
* Bring that EL 7 machine into the cluster (via web gui Install)
* Repeat for all of the rest of the EL 6 hosts to complete the upgrade to
3.6.x

HOSTS on 3.5.x could either be EL 6 or EL 7, that is no longer the case
with oVirt 3.6.x

Ok, I'll do that. I counted : that will be my 18th bug in my list (counting 
also the RFE and docs bugs, not only the software bugs, I didn't report all of 
them yet) for RHEV/ovirt... I should be payed by Red Hat team ;)

I've setup a "Gluster Management" network in DC, cluster and all hosts. It
is appearing as "operational" in the cluster and all host networks look
correct. But I'm seeing this warning continually in the engine.log:

in /var/log/vdsm/vdsm.log on a host, you should find JSON data with (also) the 
host's networking information. Can you please share it?

I would suggest to clone the VM and see if inter-VM communication is possible, 
through the bridge. Also, can you try to reach to external networks directly 
from your host beforehand? Can you verify that the tagged VLAN is routed 
properly even from the host? Or an even more basic test: does the VM network 
work with no VLAN tagging?

Thanks everyone for the comments, the new stable moVirt 1.4 has just been 
released to play store - should arrive to your devices in the next couple of 
hours.

Changes from RC 1:
- on dashboard showing only one of most utilized list (either VMs or Hosts, 
depending on the view)
- show colored icons in top boxes only if there is some error/warning. 
Otherwise white
- units are changed to display by IEC standard - KiB, MiB, etc.

The new screenshot attached.

Thank you everybody for useful comments! And special thank to Filip to actually 
implement them :)

Now, the main adventure for v1.5 will be to start using the new oVirt 4.0 API.
