Duplicated here.

It seems like entering "Vms: id" triggers the syntax-based search (expecting
that you'll search by "id"). So if you decide to open a bug, it can be something
like: "Free text search fails if starting with a keyword". The same happens if
I search e.g. "Vms: ipa" - it seems to expect me to search by ip address.

Adding Ravi.

For your current needs, you can use: "Vms: name=*idempiere*".

Best,

Re: [ovirt-users] ovirtmgmt bridge creation fails 100% during hosted-engine 4.1 install

2017-03-13 Thread Ian Neilsen
re:bug 2 - confirmed - ovirtmgmt bridge is not created during initial
deploy of second host.
Workaround - maintenance 2nd host --> re-establish bond network from backup
files or manually, systemctl restart network --> engine gui --> second host
--> network --> add in ovirtmgmt bridge

Seems to work and allows the bridge to be created without hassle.

[ovirt-users] ovirtmgmt bridge creation fails 100% during hosted-engine 4.1 install

2017-03-13 Thread Ian Neilsen
Guys

Bug 1:
I have run the ovirt 4.1 installation many times now and everytime through
the deploy the ovirtmgmt bridge fails at ifup when used in conjunction with
bonded nic's

The deploy process stops when it cannot raise the bridge ifup. To fix, a
systemctl restart network works and I can start deploy again. ifup will not
work.

2 questions:
Do you want me to raise a bug for this. I'll get my logs to a place where
you can access them.
Has anyone got a scrip to create the ovirtmgmt bridge? Is there anything
special I need to know if I create it manually on my bonded nic's.

Bug 2:
During hosted deploy on second node,via gui, the ovirtmgt bridge fails to
create necessary files and deletes other ifcfg files in the process. Bridge
creation stops as it seems to be missing ifcfg files necessary. Again nics
are bonded. manual creation is needed to fix the deploy mess.

Yet to confirm this one, am about to try now. Will let you know.

Systems:
Centos7.3,
ovirt 4.1,
gluster 3.10.0
vdsm-4.19.4-1.el7.centos.x86_64
kernel 3.10.0-514.10.2.el7.x86_64

Re: [ovirt-users] oVirt 4.1 Dashboard

2017-03-13 Thread Shirly Radco
Hi,

Please open a bug so we can better track you issue.
As far as I can see from the screenshot the dwh does collect the samples,
but do not aggregate it to hourly tables.
1. I see that you installed the full dwh. Did it work correctly in the
past? Did you use the reports and was able to use them?
2. Please attach the ovirt_engine_history db dump and the dwh log and
screenshot to the bug and state the versions of the engine and dwh.

 Best regards,

[ovirt-users] idempiere

2017-03-13 Thread Logan Kuhn
We have 4 idempiere-* VMs in an older cluster and we can search for VMs
based on all sorts of strings, but if it contains idempiere it shows:

2017-03-13 11:27:33,268 INFO  [org.ovirt.engine.core.bll.SearchQuery]
(default task-19) [] ResourceManager::searchBusinessObjects - erroneous
search text - ''Vms: idempiere''

Can anyone else duplicate this problem in their environment?

hosted-engine setup is already running vdsm-tool configure --force so it
should configure libvirt and qemu for you, not sure why it failed.
Could you please attach the logs from the failed hosted-engine-setup run?

Re: [ovirt-users] iscsi data domain when engine is down

2017-03-13 Thread Chris Adams
It's easy enough to verify; just SSH in to the physical machine running
the hosted engine and look. You can see the qemu command line, follow
the links to the block device, then look at the LVM physical volume and
see that it is a multipath device.

Once upon a time, Marcin Kruk said:

Re: [ovirt-users] oVirt Hosted Engine Setup fails

2017-03-13 Thread Manuel Luis Aznar
Hello to all there again,

I was having some troubles while installing ovirt Hosted Engine, I took
some look at the hosted engine setup logs while I was running the
hosted-engine --deploy and I found the following in the ovirt hosted engine
setup logs:

lvm requires configuration
libvirt is not configured for vdsm yet
FAILED: conflicting vdsm and libvirt-qemu tls configuration.
vdsm.conf with ssl=True requires the following changes:
libvirtd.conf: listen_tcp=0, auth_tcp="sasl", listen_tls=1
qemu.conf: spice_tls=1.

When I saw this I stopped the setup and edited this two files (vdsm.conf
and qemu.conf) set the stated configurations and run the deploy again. All
was fine and I dont have any trouble the installation finished
successfully. This was using ovirt-release41-pre.rpm repo.

I will be trying the same installation with ovirt-release41.rpm (when I
have time) and I will report what happened.

Thanks for all
Manuel Luis Aznar

PROVIDER_FAILURE indicates a problem with the external network provider.
The detailed cause of the error should be present in the vdsm logs.

Did you verify that you can ssh manually from the engine to the host?

[ovirt-users] Lab enviroment with vmware workstation---- Host rhev01 installation failed. Command returned failure code 1 during SSH session 'root@192.168.2.191'.

2017-03-13 Thread 单延明
Hi everyone,

I made two virtual machine with vmware workstation.

The virtual machine as flollows.

oVirt Engine is rhevm.example.com.

oVirt Node is rhev01.example.com.

Host rhev01 installation failed. Command returned failure code 1 during SSH
session 'root@192.168.2.191'.

Re: [ovirt-users] Info on network interface threshold alert

2017-03-13 Thread Alona Kaplan
Hi,

The calculation of the tx rate in percentage is -

txDiff = currentCumulativeTx - previousCumulativeTx
timeSlot = currentTime - previousTime

txRate = txDiff / timeSlot

ratePercentage = 100 *  txRate / speed

The message is displayed in case 'ratePercentage' is bigger than 95%.

If you have 'dwh' installed you can see the history.

Alona.

I opened a bug to track it:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1431624
thanks for pointing it out.

now in your case the quick option to get if fixed is:
- choose the host where the engine VM is running
- set global maintenance mode with
  hosted-engine --set-maintenance --mode=global
- connect to the engine VM and run
  fdisk /dev/vda
- press d to and delete the root partition
- press n to add a new one, ensure it starts on the same sector where the
original partition was starting (2048)
- press w to write it
- shut down the engine VM
- come back to the host and restart the engine VM with
  hosted-engine --vm-start
- connect again to the engine VM and run
  resize2fs /dev/vda1
  to resize the FS
- come back to the host and exit the global maintenance mode with
  hosted-engine --set-maintenance --mode=none

Before this, please use engine-backup on the engine VM to create a backup
of your engine.

 Can you please attach your hosted-engine-setup log file?

 Could you please check if the disk is 90GB but the main disk partition
 is just 10 GB?

 cloud-utils-growpart should grow the partition on the first boot, if
 the issue is there we need to understand why it didn't triggered in your
 case.

 It depends on where the issue is (is on the disk size or just on the
 partition size?).

I think 4.1-pre should include a later version. Did you try again recently?

Looks to me like [1], which should be fixed in 4.1.1 (and in current 4.1-pre).

Re: [ovirt-users] Error on Node upgrade 2

2017-03-13 Thread FERNANDO FREDIANI

Hi Yedidyah.

Running oVirt-Node *4.1.0--0.20170201.0+1* on the nodes and tried a
normal upgrade. It detected it has to upgrade to
*4.1.1-0.3.rc1.20170303133657.git20d3594.el7.centos* from the
ovirt-4.1-pre repository.

The upgrade finished with the following problems:

...
Running transaction
  Updating   :
ovirt-node-ng-image-4.1.1-0.3.rc1.20170303133657.git20d3594.el7.centos.noarch
1/4
  Updating   :
ovirt-node-ng-image-update-4.1.1-0.3.rc1.20170303133657.git20d3594.el7.centos.noarch
2/4
mount: special device /dev/onn_kvm01/ovirt-node-ng-4.1.1-0.20170303.0+1
does not exist

cp: target ‘/tmp/tmp.N6JgSdFcu6/usr/share/imgbased/’ is not a directory
rm: cannot remove
‘/tmp/tmp.N6JgSdFcu6/usr/share/imgbased/*image-update*.rpm’: No such
file or directory

umount: /tmp/tmp.N6JgSdFcu6: not mounted
...

So it seems it was not able to do it correctly.
This is the second time it happens and I had to remove manually these
packages containing 4.1.1 version.

Tried also:

# lvdisplay | grep ovirt-node-ng-4.1.1-0.20170303.0+1
  LV Path /dev/onn_kvm01/ovirt-node-ng-4.1.1-0.20170303.0+1
  LV Nameovirt-node-ng-4.1.1-0.20170303.0+1
# fdisk -l /dev/onn_kvm01/ovirt-node-ng-4.1.1-0.20170303.0+1
fdisk: cannot open /dev/onn_kvm01/ovirt-node-ng-4.1.1-0.20170303.0+1: No
such file or directory

# vgchange -ay
# fdisk -l /dev/onn_kvm01/ovirt-node-ng-4.1.1-0.20170303.0+1 (then worked)

But the upon reboot it came back to 4.1.0 as if 4.1.1 never existed

What kind of problems?

Is the only solution a complete reinstall of the node ?

No, this should work.

Re: [ovirt-users] Removing all the Users Permission on Data Center

2017-03-13 Thread Manuel Luis Aznar
Hello there again,

I was fighting with the permissions yesterday night and in the end I find
out all was fine. There was an Everyone permission that confused me...

The main thing here is that we have an application that use the ovirt sdk
version 3 and we want to migrate it to the ovirt sdk version 4.

This is the function in the ovirt sdk 3 literally is (userid and dc is
string type):

def ovirt_remove_dc_permissions(userid, dc):
kvm = ovirt_connect()

u = kvm.users.get(id=userid)
for perm in u.permissions.list():
udc = perm.get_data_center()
if udc:
globaldc = kvm.datacenters.get(id=udc.get_id())
if globaldc.get_name() == dc:
perm.delete()

kvm.disconnect()

The function on the ovirt sdk 4 is:

def ovirt_remove_dc_permissions(self, userid, dc):
connection = self.ovirt_connect()

system_service = connection.system_service()
permissions_service = system_service.permissions_service()
users_service = system_service.users_service()
data_centers_service = system_service.data_centers_service()

data_center=None
for data_center_aux in data_centers_service.list():
if data_center_aux.name == dc:
data_center = data_center_aux
break

user_service = users_service.user_service(id=userid)
user_permission_service = user_service.permissions_service()

for permission in user_permission_service.list():
udc = permission.data_center
if udc:
if udc.id == data_center.id:
permission_service =
permissions_service.permission_service(id=permission.id)
permission_service.remove()

connection.close()

In the end I manage to translate from ovirt SDK v3 to ovirt SDK 4

Thanks again and sorry for this late response once more time.
Manuel

Re: [ovirt-users] oVirt 4.1 Dashboard

2017-03-13 Thread Arsène Gschwind

Hi,

I'm wondering if you could identify something. I've investigate on my
side but couldn't find any problem but for some reason it seams DWH is
not collecting data.

Thanks a lot for any hint/help

Hi,

I've update our oVirt installation 3.6 --> 4.0 --> 4.1,
everything went smooth except update some of the hosts which
i could update after several hour playing around.

We greatly appreciate the dashboard in 4.1 but we see the
information missing:

 1. On the cluster block in the upper part we see the amount
of clusters but no Status (N/A)

The reason there is no status there is that in oVirt there is no
cluster status (look at the cluster main-tab, for example).
We only have statuses for objects like DCs, Hosts, VMs, SDs
(well, maybe we have for some more, but not clusters...).
We decided to include clusters in the inventory part anyway, for
user visibility, and provide access to the clusters main tab by
pressing the link.

 1. On the lower part at "Cluster Utilization" and "Storage
Utilization" we don't have any information at all.

Where does this information come from? DWH service is up and
running

The inventory part is taken from the engine.
All the rest is taken from DWH.
You can start with sharing the engine logs here.
Shirly - any other logs or information you think is required?

Where do I have have to investigate further to find out what
is missing/not working?

Let me know if you need further information.

On the hosted-engine storage domain we have also the lockspace, metadata
and configuration volumes.
They are created at setup time by ovirt-hosted-engine-setup

Here we have two distinct things:
- use multiple iSCSI initiators on the host; the best way to achieve this
is configuring an iSCSI bond from the engine once it's running. See
'Configuring iSCSI Multipathing' section on
http://www.ovirt.org/documentation/admin-guide/chap-Storage/
- get multipath connecting to multiple targets on the same SAN: this is
currently not supported by hosted-engine-setup and ovirt-ha-agent

OK, so the disk is 90 GB but the partition is just 10 GB.

Could you please check if you have cloud-utils-growpart package inside your
engine VM?
If not, could you please report the version of ovirt-engine-appliance you
used at setup time?

I think that's ok. You can instead post a link to some image-sharing
site - I guess some people might prefer that.

Re "Connect to CD drive option not working", unless you want to ask about
something in the UI, I do not think the screenshot will be very useful.
It's better if you copy/paste the messages that you get and relevant parts
of engine.log at the time of error/problem.

Re: [ovirt-users] VDSM hang

2017-03-13 Thread p...@email.cz

Hi,

the volume is not fully optimized for failover ( quorum / quorum weight
), but it's not so important from my view for this test ( data could be
lost everytime )

Volume Name: slow1
Type: Replicate
Volume ID: e76da710-7ea3-46ba-b991-5e9e865f50ca

Some more info about performance test:
  The gluster storage is build on raid5 ( 9 disks ) with Megaraid
controller SSD mirrored cache (256GB ) on each node.

Tests results:
  - during heavy load test ( written in previous notes / or on the end
current) SSD cache will suck primary huge stream of data - OK
  - then other data are cached to filesystem buffers ( probabbly )
until then before memory is full ( and swap too - if not paused (
swapiness=1))
  - in next steps the system is R/W oveloaded and kernel crashed some
processes/threads - it can happened
  - in cycle, SSD cache forward data to R5 spin disks, but during this
time are all R/W gluster volume requests blocked . It can takes several
seconds, but some req. have more than one minute delay !! ??
  - according this delay, VDS and other sub tasks will fail with
timeout error and VMs are in "uknown" status ("?" mark ) and ovirt
domains  collaps - lost connectivity
  - in late time , when load is done, some structures are revitalized,
but the import from "export domain" is inconsistent = lost and block
unreachable space on gluster volume ( in volume sharded version eg. )

Has anybody similar experiences with ??

If system is overloaded I'm expecting slow down this, not total colaps.

Can you please attach your hosted-engine-setup log file?

Could you please check if the disk is 90GB but the main disk partition is
just 10 GB?

cloud-utils-growpart should grow the partition on the first boot, if the
issue is there we need to understand why it didn't triggered in your case.

It depends on where the issue is (is on the disk size or just on the
partition size?).

[ovirt-users] Extend disk in engine appliance in ovirt 4.1.0?

2017-03-13 Thread gflwqs gflwqs
Hi, I have recently installed a new ovirt environment from scratch.
The version is 4.1.0.
I made a 90GB disk for the hosted engine.
When i had installed it and log into the engine i see that it has only
configured 10GB of those 90GB.
So there is 80GB of unconfigured disk unused.
That is fine as long as it had used lvm but it has not meaning i have to
take the engine down to extend the disk?

My questions is:
1. Why does it not configure all disk?
2. Why is it not using lvm?
3. What should i do to extend the disk?

Regards
Christian
