A wild guess: The code adds a rule to the routing policy table, with
priority 100 and dst equal to your IP address, but tries to do this
only if it's not already done. But in reality it was probably never
tested on a machine already having a rule with priority 100 and no
'dst'. Perhaps that's your case? What's the output of:

$ ip -j rule | jq ''

If it includes a rule with priority 100 and no 'dst', and if you can
remove it, or add a 'dst', perhaps try that.

Perhaps create an issue on the ovirt-ansible-collection project with
all relevant details.

Best regards,

oVirt Hosted Engine installation via cockpit interface is not supported
anymore since 4.5.
The Cockpit oVirt interface has not been retired but it's not actively
maintained anymore: https://github.com/oVirt/cockpit-ovirt
Please use the cli command line:
https://ovirt.org/documentation/installing_ovirt_as_a_self-hosted_engine_using_the_command_line/index.html

oVirt has been on CentOS Stream for a while. There are efforts by the
community to also use it on AlmaLinux and other RHEL rebuilds, but the
upstream oVirt project has been focused on CentOS Stream for many
years now:
https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/BBXNIQU5Z4BMGSGTDF433XOPWAEMVWNR/

Also, CentOS hasn't reached "the end of the road". Quite obviously the
opposite, given how much more is going on in the CentOS Project in the
past two years than has occurred in the previous five.

Finally, porting to a BSD would be extremely difficult, since oVirt is
tied intricately with Linux KVM and BSDs are not Linux-based. There
have been attempts at porting oVirt to Debian, but none that have been
completed as far as I know.

I suggest you just go forward with oVirt with CentOS Stream. It's a
good combination and works very well.

The whole point of oVirt is to provide a virtualization environment.

What are you trying to do, and what steps did you take? Please send us more
details on what you were expecting and what you tried to do.

[ovirt-users] future of oVirt after end of road for CentOS. (porting)

2023-02-12 Thread rp.neuli--- via Users
Hello Masters,

I am very keen to use oVirt, but I was shocked and shaken to go ahead with
oVirt after I heard about end of road for CentOS. Therefore I looked for some
answers which I could not find online:

1. Will/Are you actively and vigorously porting:
   a) oVirt Agent to other OS like ubuntu?
   b) vdsm package to other OS like ubuntu, deb, openBSD etc.
 2. While standalone oVirt Node can continue to have CentOS codebase under the
hood. But do you still want to migrate it to other OS? like openBSD?

Kindly advice.
In my view, oVirt in itself is a good and complete platform. It just need to
continue evolve as VM and container "OS"/hypervisor. At the same time 'agent'
and vdsm should be ported to as many OS as possible.

Thank you.

[ovirt-users] Re: oVirt 4.5 console problem with Ubuntu 22.04 guest

2023-02-12 Thread Sharon Gratch
Hi,

The ovirt-guest-agent and SSO (Single Sign-On) are no longer supported for
specific OS since oVirt 4.4 (RHEL 8+, Ubuntu 18+, ppc64, Windows etc) . The
qemu-guest-agent replaced the ovirt-guest-agent.
Since we still need to support old OS hosts where ovirt-guest-agent might
be still installed and configured via the admin portal, then we display
this warning anyway for the first console connection attempt.. but you can
ignore it since it won't prevent from connecting to the console. It is just
a warning to let you know that SSO is disabled.

I guess you couldn't connect because another user was already connected to
that console and that's why restarting solved the issue.
I'm not sure which OS are installed on other hosts.

If you want to disable this SSO warning, you can disable the guest-agent
option via the VM->Console->Use Guest Agent option.

Thanks,
Sharon
