[ovirt-users] Fail to web-console Hosted Engine

2024-03-07 Thread ponarin . sv
Good afternoon. I'm mocking up Red virtualization in the HostedEngine+Iscsi
configuration. I installed the Engine on one host, added Iscsi storage to store
the Engine, I try to log into the Engine’s web console, but the page does not
load -ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED. I can't ping anything from Engine. I can only log
into Engine from the host via shh or vm-console. Engine statu : {"vm": "up",
"health": "good", "detail": "Up"} What errors can there be?
Entries in /etc/hosts have been made.
After pinging and looking at the arp tables of everything I could, I realized
that the problem was in the connection between the ovirtmgmt interface of the
Host and the eth0 Engine. But I haven’t figured out how to fix this yet.
Sorry for my English - it's my second language.

[ovirt-users] oVirt installation error in its dependency

2024-03-07 Thread RFP
Dear Support,

I have tried to install oVirt in Standalone engine mode, after set the entire
configuration it starts the installation without pop up any error,
however in the finish it comes up with a message as shows below.
It seems to be everything ok unlike the package dependecy which I don't have
any idea on how to overcome this.
Anyone there could throw me some idea ?

[ovirt-users] Snapshots and mess with Storage

2024-03-07 Thread thorsten.bolten--- via Users
Hi,

I experienced a weird Failure. I hope I explain it understandable and not too
hard to read

We had issues with our backups, that they can't finalize
Here is a Thread someone having the same issue.

https://forums.veeam.com/ovirt-kvm-f62/veeam-rhv-12-1-command-removeimageticketvds-failed-t91699.html#p510618

so I made some investigations and recognized, it seems to be an Issue with
Snapshot

1. I created a Snapshot

https://paste.fo/c0b8e77a3400

what works

2. Then I tried to deleted the snapshot, what didn't work

https://paste.fo/013e5632e0d6

So I logged in to a node and checked several things

First strange thing was, I can see pvs vgs etc, I am used, that ovirt hides
them in the System (on one of those nodes it's still the case) but anyways

[root@ovnb05 ~]# pvs
WARNING: Couldn't find device with uuid
uHJs0a-T7R3-2H8E-15W9-cGqW-ZN1e-xsdCsb.
WARNING: VG 515bebca-972b-42ac-abff-d76af0071613 is missing PV

So I did

I have never seen an unknown before, so I guess something happened to that LUN

But the LUN is available and in /var/log/messages I can't find any issue with
the LUN or the path etc.

[root@ovnb05 data-center]# blkid |grep uHJs0a-T7R3-2H8E-15W9-cGqW-ZN1e-xsdCsb

So I did some nasty stuff, like removing it and trying to add it again, through
that process it told me that there is no meta Data on the Device

So at the End I am a little bit lost now.

Maybe the storage was failing for some reason or maybe veeam messed something
up, but what leaves me afraid is, that the Ovirt-Engine didn't show me any
Problem with the Cluster or the Storage.

I mean it's obvious, that there was/is a huge failure with the storage and
Ovirt did not recognize neither did it alarm me.

At the moment I detached the LUN from the Storage Domain and created a seperate
one (cause I recognized that having several LUN's in a Storage Domain seems to
be an bad Idea) and one PVS is now hidden, the other one not

[ovirt-users] Re: Ovirt 4.5 HA over NFS fails when a single host goes down

2024-03-07 Thread Mark R
That is wild and definitely not in line with the behavior we saw when a
motherboard failed in one of our small 3-node oVirt 4.5 clusters. The bad host
hard-froze, shortly after that one of the surviving nodes fenced it via IPMI,
and all the VMs that had been running on it were started on surviving hosts.

It sounds like your experience is that a single node fails (even one with no
VMs on it at the time), and the surviving hosts shut down (or do they kill) the
VMs that they have running. Is that accurate?

[ovirt-users] oVirt cockpit installation

2024-03-07 Thread Fedele Stabile
Good morning everyone,
I ask for the correct procedure to install oVirt.
At the moment I only have one server available, so I install the iso on this
server
ovirt-node-ng-installer-4.5.5-2023113015.el8
via the cockpit web interface
as a second step I have to install the vm for the engine
then I configure the storage gluster for the virtual machines.
It's correct?
N.B. It is my intention to add two more ovir nodes as they become available.
