Re: [ovirt-users] ?==?utf-8?q? ?==?utf-8?q? ?= Error "Did not connect host to storage domain because connection for connectionId is null" in ovirt 4.

2017-12-12 Thread Claude Durocher

"why you lost it?"

Good question. We migrated from 4.0 to 4.1 last week. After the migration, I
tried to reimport oVirt guest tools iso (with engine-iso-uploader) but it
failed with :
ERROR: Fault reason is "Operation Failed". Fault detail is "Entity not found:
Storage server connection: id=b3011e5b-552e-4393-a758-ac1e35648ab1". HTTP
response code is 404.

So I found the missing connection was related to a particular storage domain. I
don't know when this connection was lost as the problem was not visible (the
storage was running "fine" until I disabled it). Not sure if the migration
caused it or something prior to it.

OK, but the question is why you lost it.

Replying to myself here: I fixed it by running this insert statement in the
postgresql db to restore the missing connection:

insert into storage_server_connections (id, connection, portal, storage_type)
values ('b3011e5b-552e-4393-a758-ac1e35648ab1', '/var/ovirt-lun1', '1', '4');

[ovirt-users] Timout with large image uploads in ovirt 4.0.5

2016-11-24 Thread Claude Durocher

When trying to upload large kvm images (more than 50 GB) with the upload
option, we get timeouts. In the ovirt-imageio-proxy/image-proxy.log we have:

ERROR 2016-11-24 16:18:51,211 session:293:root:(_decode_ovirt_ticket) Failed to
verify proxy ticket: Ticket life time expired

We can recover and restart the upload but it is annoying to constantly watch
the process. Is there a timeout parameter we can change in the imageio-proxy?

Re: [ovirt-users] ?==?utf-8?q? Hook to add firewall rules

2016-11-21 Thread Claude Durocher

Ok, i've configured my custom iptable rules with "engine-config --get
IPTablesConfigSiteCustom" on the engine. Now, how do I apply this on already
deployed nodes?

[ovirt-users] Hook to add firewall rules

2016-11-17 Thread Claude Durocher

I've implemented sucessfully a hook to edit the configuration of some of my
nics on my ovirt hosts.

Is there a way to add firewall rules (iptables) with vdsm hooks?

[ovirt-users] ovirt 4.0.4?==?utf-8?q? : unable to upload images

2016-11-01 Thread Claude Durocher

We have a setup with ovirt 4.0.4 (hosted engine) and I try to import a Ubuntu
qcow cloud image. When I try to import, it stops with the error 'Unable to
upload image to disk ... due to a network error. Make sure ovirt-imageio-proxy
service is installed and configured, and ovirt-engine's certificate is
registered as a valid CA in the browser'.

The ovirt-imageio-proxy service is running on the engine.  No errors in the log
(just a mention that the service has started up). I also imported the server CA
in my browser (Firefox 49 on Ubuntu).

Re: [ovirt-users] ?==?utf-8?q? vds.dispatcher ERROR SSL in ovirt 4.0

2016-06-23 Thread Claude Durocher

I did a complete reinstall of ovirt 4.0 (with hosted engine appliance) and the
error is there with a single host after minimum configuration (add a single nfs
storage domain).

The engine.log file doesn't content any irregularities.

Re: [ovirt-users] ?==?utf-8?q? Problem using xenial cloud images with ovirt

2016-05-30 Thread Claude Durocher

I will reply to myself here.

Ubuntu 16.04 uses a different naming rules for it's network cards (no more
ethXX). In the cloud image, they have a nic named ens3 wich defaults to DHCP
(this is coded in file /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg.d/50-cloud-init.cfg).

The long delay in booting was in part due to the fact I had no DHCP server and
I was trying to push a fixed IP address to eth0. So I ended up adding a DHCP
server and using ens3 instead of eth0. Hope this helps someone.
