Hi, Lev, you are correct; there is nothing to install on the guest for Spice Native USB. On the client side there is a need for remote-viewer to be configured with USB redir enabled, and having access to the device (via libusb). On a Windows client currently we use WinUSB driver to enable access to the USB device. The driver can be installed using the usbclerk service or manually (e.g. with Zadig). It must be installed for each device to be redirected. On Ovirt, as mentioned, Native Spice USB option has to be enabled. (This would also add the virtual usb devices needed on the qemu-kvm/spice-server side). Hope that helps, Uri. The user/admin only needs to properly configure the VM for Native USB redirection and install the Spice client. I forwarded the issue to the Spice team, they could properly point to the issue. Hello everybody, Ondra you are right, I removed the domain. I have already tried to execute the command with lower case the domain name and the result is the same engine-manage-domains add --domain=siee.local --provider=ad --user=Administrator --add-permissions Enter password: No user in Directory was found for Administrator@SIEE.LOCAL. Details: No user information was found for user the result to the command psql -U engine -d engine -c select * from vdc_options where option_name='LDAPSecurityAuthentication' is: psql: FATAL: Ident authentication failed for user engine And for second command psql -U engine -d engine -c update vdc_options set option_value='siee.local:GSSAPI' where option_name='LDAPSecurityAuthentication', I receive the same response: psql: FATAL: Ident authentication failed for user engine Is there any problem? Hello Karli, You are wellcome, yes, at the moment we are testing but our idea is to connect engine to a user validation system. I will try to do it using Samba4 system and all needed pieces. Thanks, Juanjo. On Fri, Apr 12, 2013 at 1:41 PM, Itamar Heim ih...@redhat.com wrote: On 04/12/2013 11:27 AM, Karli Sjöberg wrote: Hey Everyone! I solved it! I friggin solved it, and it didn´t have anything to do with the spice-client, spice-plugin(ActiveX or XPI), or userportal specifically, it´s in the engine itself! So Juanjo here said that it works for him, and I took a guess that´s because he is only using admin@internal mailto:admin@internal for testing (correct me if I´m wrong Juanjo), so I added a UserRole to admin on a test VM, logged into Userportal, clicked for console, and it worked! So, since our setup is a little more complex, as it´s connected to our ActiveDirectory, I concluded that it must be a permissions related issue. I created a new UserRole, called ConsoleOwner that only have Login Permissions and RemoteLogin and added that role to our engine´s System Permissions on a directory group as broad as possible. After that if I also added an explicit UserRole permission for a directory user on any VM now it works 100%. Me so happy!:) A question goes out the developers: Should you have to do that? I thought that permissions where supposed to be calculated like Windows ACLs Effective Permissions, so that if I just add sufficient permissions for a directory user on a VM, it´s effective permissions should have granted the necessary abilities in the system, without me having to first add that as a big system permission to have them granted? Bug, or intended? Thank you so much Juanjo, for posting the versions you are currently using that proved that it should work, and that it had to be something else that prevented us from using it (which it was). Thank you! can you please clarify again which permission you granted to a user on the VM which didn't work before you added to the user the console permission? ___ Users mailing list Users@ovirt.org http://lists.ovirt.org/mailman/listinfo/users

I try to search spicex.log and I tried to install debug-helper.exe. Searching this debug application I found this thread in u...@ovirt.org historical mail list: http://lists.ovirt.org/pipermail/users/2013-January/011466.html And as you see in the Itamar Heim response to Dennis Böck, the host has to be accessible and resolvable and to have spice ports open to the client. I didn't have my host, or node as you want name it, machine configured in the client hosts file. I had spice ports opened, I only tried to configure node hostname in the client host file and voilà, it works. This is all my history. Of course, I have also the engine machine configure in the client hosts file. I have this configuration because this both machines aren't configure in my corporative DNS. Many thanks for your information Dafna. Quick Start Guide doesn't explain nothing about this and I have follewed it to create the two VM, Fedora 17 and Windows 7, that I'm using to create Templates and when I have arrived to this part I have found this problem. Now I know what is the procedure Juanjo. On Thu, Feb 21, 2013 at 2:25 PM, Dafna Ron d...@redhat.com wrote: Hi Juan, I see what the issue is and it's actually by design. The template you created has a Preallocated image. in NFS, to make a preallocated image we actually write to the disk to make it preallocated. as you can see, I created a vm with preallocated disk in NFS and if I run DU during the creation of the image you can see the size go up: 2.4G. [root@orion f1a6a2e7-38f1-4a7c-8f3b-efbca664d7aa]# du -h 2.5G. [root@orion f1a6a2e7-38f1-4a7c-8f3b-efbca664d7aa]# du -h 2.6G. [root@orion f1a6a2e7-38f1-4a7c-8f3b-efbca664d7aa]# so in NFS storage, if your template is preallocated you cannot create a thin provision copy vm (distinguishing between the actual data and previously zeroed will be complicated). you can create a snapshot of that image which will be thin provision but it will be linked to the template. or you can create a thin provision template and than create a thin provision vm or preallocated vm.
