a button 'login all').

After logging in, you'll have an option to select a specific lun that will
be used for creating the storage domain

Yes it can be bad to mess with the DB.

2018-08-09 Thread Raz Tamir
You can try using vdsm-client to check if there are running tasks on the
host using this command:

vdsm-client Host getAllTasksInfo

If there are running tasks, you can stop them:

vdsm-client Task stop taskID=xxx-yyy

If there are finished tasks, you can clear them:

vdsm-client Task clear taskID=xxx-yyy

[ovirt-users] Image format after Live Storage Migration

2016-06-23 Thread Raz Tamir
Hi all,
Before 4.0, when we performed a Live Storage Migration on a vm disk we
expected from the disk format to become a qcow because of the auto
generated snapshot as part of the live storage migration process.
>From 4.0 this process got changed and after the disk migration finishes,
the auto generated snapshot is removed (Live Merge), so the expectation
also changed and the format should be the original format of the disk

Re: [ovirt-users] How do I start an VM in a different 3.6 cluster

2016-03-15 Thread Raz Tamir
Hi,
I hope I understand your question correctly.
A VM run on a host and host exist in a cluster which means that if you want
to make sure your VM is "running" in a specific cluster you need to run it
on a host that exist in that cluster.
Is that answering your question?

Re: [ovirt-users] Clone / New VM from Template changing network interfaces

2016-02-06 Thread Raz Tamir
Hi Mark,
The problem is that you need to seal the source vm before creting the
template.

http://www.ovirt.org/Sealing_Linux_VM

Thanks,
Raz Tamir
Red Hat Israel
oVirt Engine Version: 3.5.0.1-1.el6

When cloning or creating a new vm, the network interfaces in
/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules is getting changed - rendering
the new new VM un-networkable.

The original file looks like this:

However, once the VM is either cloned or a new VM created from a template
of this source VM, the file looks like this:

The 'correct' interfaces are still there, but out of sequence and there are
two additional interfaces that do not belong there.

Ovirt admin console is showing the correct number of interfaces as seen in
this image:

Any idea what is causing this?

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Colin,
Can you share more info?
1) what version of oVirt you have?
2) what was the VM state when you tried to remove the snapshot?
3) How the snapshot was created in the first place (the VM state was UP or
DOWN)?
4) What is the status of the snapshot's disks (click on snapshot tab and on
the right hand side you have another 'disks' tab)?

Re: [ovirt-users] All snapshots read only

2016-02-04 Thread Raz Tamir
Hi Colin,
What you are trying to do is live merge - delete a vm's snapshot for
running vm.
This feature might not be supported on some of your hypervisors because of
vdsm or OS version.
Can you please share the OS version and vdsm vesrion of the hypervisor that
hositng the running vm which you cannot delete it's snapshot?

A quick solution is to make sure you powering off a vm before deleting it's
snapshot.

Hi ccox,
you can see the disk id mapping to device if you execute 'ls -l
/dev/disk/by-id/' .
Second way, and easier, is to make sure you have guest-agent installed on
your guest virtual machine and using rest API you can run GET command:
GET on .../api/vms/{vm_id}/disks

You will see an attribute called "" .
I hope that helps

Hi Raz:

I'm using vdsm-4.16.14-0.el6.x86_64 with glusterfs-3.6.2-1.el6.x86_64 on oVirt
3.5.2.

I removed the brick with: gluster remove-brick store1 replica 3 $1 $2 $3 start;
gluster remove-brick store1 replica 3 $1 $2 $3 commit. Between the two commands
I used the 'status' option to verify that all nodes were marked as 'completed'
before running the 'commit' one.

Also, the two log files you requested are available here:
http://srepetsk.net/files/engine.log.20150723
http://srepetsk.net/files/etc-glusterfs-glusterd.vol.log.20150723
The gluster log file is from one of the servers from a different brick in the
primary (aka store1) datacenter/gluster volume, so it was and still is in the
volume.

Thanks,
Stephen

I recently made a change with the gluster volume backing my primary storage
domain (removed 1 of the 3 bricks, each w/ 3x replication), and now oVirt fails
to activate the primary storage domain. After attempting to start the domain
the engine goes through and does its various commications with VDSM, but then
fails out with a Sanlock resource read failure -

That is correct. The volume was 9 servers w/ 3x replication, and I wanted to
move all data off of one of the sets of 3 servers, and those were which I
removed w/ remove-brick start and commit. Per the RH documentation (
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Storage/2.0/html/Administration_Guide/sect-User_Guide-Managing_Volumes-Shrinking.html
), this should not be an issue assuming the remove-brick process completes
before committing it.

Hi all,

I have to add that this is the latest 3.5 version. Adding the other glusterfs
storage was done by an older version of 3.5. I don't know if something has
changed in between version?

Thanks,

I have mounted the gluster volume by hand and that works fine. Also checked the
rights and ownership and they are 755 and vdsm:kvm.

I also tried to reinstall the oVirtH node.

May worth of telling is that I already have one gluster mount running perfectly
but add a new one does not work.

Can somebody help me?

Hi,

I'm using the iso from:
http://ftp.nluug.nl/os/Linux/virtual/ovirt/ovirt-3.5/iso/

That is the latest version released. Should I use a nightly build to test this?

Thanks,
