Brian,

It seems to be http://cloud-times.com/ , and Halley Han from cloud-tims

Great! I have some suggestions.

1. If it is possible, we'd better rent a (virtual/cloud) server inside
China. Sometimes it's very slow to access ovirt.org. Maybe we can also
have a sub-domain name such as cnuser.ovirt.org, and make the outlook of
cnuser the same as oVirt main site.

2. Considering the content, we can start by translating primary pages
and slides in ovirt.org. I think in China most of the technical people
are able to read English, so it is not necessary to translate all the
pages. We shall then provide new content that is different from the
oVirt main site. For example, successful customer stories, technical
experience sharing, and all the things you mentioned in the mail.

I noticed in the previous attached CentOS_30.log, qemu said "Gluster
connection failed for server=172.16.0.100" for each of the first few
attempts to start qemu. That's why libvirt said it could not connect to
qemu monitor, the real reason was that qemu process exited after it
checked the gluster storage. libvirt error message was not very friendly
in this case.

Then I see on "2013-10-30 08:28:51.047+" in CentOS_30.log, qemu
started successfully without reporting gluster error, this was fine. In
libvirtd.log on the corresponding time spot, it libvirt connected to the
monitor and reported it was about to issue a handshake.

Investigate the CentOS_30.log further, I find the attempts to start qemu
after "2013-10-30 08:28:51" were failed with the same error "Gluster
connection failed for server=172.16.0.100". Maybe there is a problem in
the gluster server or firewall? I'm not sure.

You are correct. I add python-apt as a recommend dependency package and
upload the package again for Ubuntu and Debian. I didn't notice the
problem because I have other packages in my test machine which depend on
python-apt. Thanks.

Two good news.

Developers fixed the bug in latest master, so I updated the
ovirt-guest-agent package for Ubuntu 13.04 (Raring) to 1.0.8. This
package should be OK to use with 12.04 (Precise) as well.

I also wrote a Debian specific SysV init script for the guest agent.I
tested in my Debian Wheezy guest. There is a small problem,
luanchpad.net does not support hosting Debian packages, and for each
package per Ubuntu release, it hosts the latest version. So I upload the
Debian specific oVirt guest agent package as a Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise)
package.

You can dowanlod them from the following link.
https://launchpad.net/~zhshzhou/+archive/vdsm-ubuntu/+packages

In all, the ovirt-guest-agent-1.0.8 (Raring) package is for both Ubuntu
Raring and Precise. The ovirt-guest-agent-1.0.8 (Precise) is for Debian.

I've upload ovirt-guest-agent 1.0.7 for Precise to my ppa. You can get
it from https://launchpad.net/~zhshzhou/+archive/vdsm-ubuntu/+packages
You can wget the .deb file and gdebi it.

The actual version is a bit newer than 1.0.7 because the Ubuntu
packaging scripts are introduced after 1.0.7. The agent runs
successfully on my Ubuntu 1204 guest and reports IP and file system
information correctly.

Sure. I think 12.04 LTS is a good release target. I can submit a package
for it. I have a look at the exception you pasted. It looks like not
related to Ubuntu, it might related to xml character filtering and
unicode. I see some related patches in the git log. This is because I
packaged the latest upstream. Maybe Vinzenz Feenstra can help to
investigate the problem. May I know the agent version you used for RHEL
guest? I can package the same version for Ubuntu 12.04.

I've submitted ovirt-guest-agent to launchpad.net. This is how you can
install it for a Ubuntu 1304(raring) guest.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:zhshzhou/vdsm-ubuntu
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ovirt-guest-agent

After install, the ovirt-guest-agent daemon is automatically started.
You can also control it using initctl start/status/stop. It If you have
any problems, search /var/log/ovirt-guest-agent/ovirt-guest-agent.log
for the clue. Feedback is welcome!
