[ovirt-users] VM AutoStart
When I have to shut down cluster... ups runs out etc.. I need a sequence set of just a small number of VMs to "autostart" Normally I just use DNS FQND to connect to oVirt engine but as two of my VMs are a DNS HA cluster.. as well as NTP / SMTP /DHCP etc... I need those two infrastructure VMs to be auto boot. I looked at HA settings for those VMs but it seems to be watching for pause /resume.. but it does not imply or state auto start on clean first boot. [ovirt-users] vm autostart and priorities
Hi, I'm migrating my VM's to oVirt from ESXI and I've only got one left on the ESXi side - a VM which provides me DNS, mail and DHCP services. Without this VM's, I can't access the internet. The only issue that prevents me from migrating this VM to oVirt and "kill" the ESXi machine, is that I need to start this VM's upon oVirt node power up (auto start), so if the power goes down and comes back, I'll have my infrastructure up and running automatically within minutes. Is there a way to auto start specific VM's or better - start VM's based on specific orders upon boot of the nodes? I think it's a very important feature. The hosted engine VM start automatically, but I'm talking about the others vms HA. I wait a day with the computer on and at any time, they haven't been started. Re: [ovirt-users] VM autostart
It should do that automatically. It might take a few seconds until the HA broker has decided which host it should run on, but it should start by itself. Re: [ovirt-users] VM Autostart disable
You should not directly write to libvirt if you use ovirt. set your HA-Flag in ovirt for the vm and it should be autostarted. I don't know if this flag somehow pops up in the libvirt.xml but I doubt it. Re: [ovirt-users] VM Autostart disable
libvirt doesn't manage the oVirt VMs, oVirt does.
