2024-05-05 Thread Ning Yang
Hello everyone,

I'm Ning Yang. I am a first-year master¡¯s student at Yanshan University in
China, and I am majoring in Computer Technology. My research chiefly focuses
on RTEMS. I will continue to focus on RTEMS in the next two years.

My project is Adding SPI, Watchdog and SD card support to Raspberry Pi 4B BSP.
Mentor is Kinsey Moore and Utkarsh Verma.

This project intends to add the following support to the RPi4B BSP: SPI
support, Watchdog support and SD card support.

Looking forward to working together!

Re: Contributor Introduction

2024-05-01 Thread Suraj Kumar
Hey there! I am Suraj Kumar, a 19 year old guy from India. Super excited to
work with all of you :)

I am a Computer Science student, currently in my 2nd year, and very
passionate about Cyber Security and Open Source. I am an active member of
team bi0s, and my current area of focus is Reverse Engineering & Malware
Analysis.

My project mainly focuses on making an RTEMS developer's life easier, i.e,
improving RTEMS debugging experience. I plan on improving pretty-printing
capabilities for C++ structures as well as for RTEMS specific kernel
structures, and hope to accomplish that in the coming weeks.

Happy to be part of the RTEMS Community, and looking forward to working
with all of you!

GSoC Contributor Introduction

2023-06-07 Thread Utkarsh Verma
Dear all,

I am Utkarsh Verma, a recently graduated student from India where I pursued
a Bachelor's in Electronics Engineering. It brings me joy to state that I
will be working on firmware development throughout the summer with RTEMS as
a Google Summer of Code project.

My project is to improve BSP support for the Raspberry Pi 4 boards,
developing drivers for peripherals such as GPIO, USB, SD cards and so on.
Hopefully, by the end of the project, the Raspberry Pis will pose a viable
option to users for their real-time embedded applications. My mentors will
be Alan Cudmore and Kinsey Moore, and their guidance will be critical in
making this project a success.

You may refer to my project proposal if you want further details:
Improve the Raspberry Pi 4 BSP

Please feel free to let me know if you have any suggestions for the project.
Looking forward to connecting with the community!

Regards,
Utkarsh Verma

GSoC Contributor Introduction: Integrating Renode to RTEMS

2023-05-10 Thread Muhammad Sulthan Mazaya
Hi everyone,

My name is Mazaya, I am one of the Google Summer of Code contributors for
this summer. I will be working on integrating the renode.io simulator into
RTEMS. Renode (http://renode.io/) is an open source software development
framework with commercial support from Antmicro that lets you develop,
debug and test multi-node device systems for System on Chips (SoC) and
Internet of Things (IoT) devices. To learn more about my project, you can
go to the RTEMS wiki where you can access my proposal (
https://devel.rtems.org/wiki/GSoC/2023) or you can see it from the GSoC
website (https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/programs/2023/projects/bQeiZzHB
).

I hope to accomplish the following things this summer:
1. document running RTEMS/leon3 on renode (including networking and
debugging)
2. provide at least a basic resc script for other RTEMS bsps that can run
on renode
3. provide a build and install recipe for Renode in the RTEMS source builder
4. potentially figure out how to run the RTEMS test suite on the
renode-test framework

I will document the contribution in the RTEMS wiki (
https://devel.rtems.org/wiki/GSoC/2023/add-support-for-renode-simulator)
and my personal website blog (https://www.mazaya.id/blogs?tag=GSoC). I am
truly looking forward to contributing to the RTEMS community. Hopefully,
the things that I eventually achieve this summer will be useful for the
community.

GSoC contributor introduction (resend)

2022-05-29 Thread Duc Doan
Hi everyone,

I am Duc (duk3 on Discord), a newly accepted GSoC contributor. I am a rising
junior in Electrical and Computer Engineering at WPI, USA. My project is about
adding some peripheral (GPIO, ADC, Timer) and lwIP support for the STM32F4 BSP.
I look forward to both learning about RTEMS and contribute to it.

Best,

Duc Doan

P/S: this is my 2nd email; I am not sure why my first one on May 26 did not go
through.
