What about Funambol ds-server logs ? Anything suspicious in there ?
Also, can you try using Funambol 8.5.x server ? I have had satisfactory
results with 8.5.2 server.

The issue persists with 1.3.4. I just did the upgrade -- everything went
smooth! Thanks for developing and maintaining such a great groupware!

Ludovic,

Thanks. I mentioned the patch in an earlier email but never got a
reply that it HAD to be ran. That and I missed that part in the
announcement email. Thanks again. I was not saying any data was going to
be lost, just merely thought with me having to remove the packages it
may have moved something.

Just ran the patch and will see what the users say. Thanks again.

This feature is not yet available (see

implement it once we find a sponsor to do so...

Sorry to be little stupid, what's you call "sponsor" ?

No problem. It's a "commanditaire" in proper French: somebody who will
fund the feature.

rpm seems to consider version 1.3_20100921-1 to be greater than version 1.3.4-1.

I would suggest to remove the packages before upgrading.

rpm -e --nodeps sope49-gdl1-contentstore sope49-cards

The Inverse Team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of
SOGo 1.3.4. This is a minor release of SOGo which focuses on small new
features and improved stability over previous versions.

=== What is SOGo ===

SOGo is a free and modern scalable groupware server. It offers shared
calendars, address books and emails through your favorite Web browser
or by using a native client such as Mozilla Thunderbird and Lightning.

SOGo is standard-compliant and supports CalDAV, CardDAV, GroupDAV and
reuses existing IMAP, SMTP and database servers - making the solution
easy to deploy and interoperable with many applications.

SOGo features :

 * Scalable architecture suitable for deployments from dozen to many
thousand users
 * Rich Web-based interface that shares the look and feel, the
features and the data of Mozilla Thunderbird and Lightning
 * Improved integration with Mozilla Thunderbird and Lightning by
using the SOGo Connector and the SOGo Integrator
 * Two-way synchronization support with any SyncML-capable devices
(BlackBerry, Palm, Windows CE, etc.) by using the Funambol SOGo Connector

 * Excellent integration with Apple iCal 3/4 and Apple iPhone OS 3/4

and many more! SOGo and our connectors are completely free.

=== Changes from the previous release ===

 * updated CKEditor to version 3.4.2
 * added event details in invitation email
 * fixed a bug that would prevent web calendars from being considered
as such under certain circumstances
 * when relevant, the "X-Forward" is added to mail headers with the
client's originating IP
 * added the ability to add categories to contacts as well as to
configure the list of contact categories in the preferences
 * improved performance of live-loading of messages in the webmail
interface

Awesome news! Now I won't have complaints of the "mail disappearing".
Only now I can't start sogo after the update:

[r...@webmail ~]# service sogod start
Starting SOGo:
/usr/GNUstep/System/Tools/Admin/sogod: error while loading shared
libraries: libgnustep-base.so.1.16: cannot open shared object file: No
such file or directory

  sogoD]
[r...@webmail ~]#

I checked the mail list and don't see anything that mentions it. Also is
there a sql update we need to apply for 1.3.4? I remember seeing
something in the list about it recently but cannot seem to find if it
applys to 1.3.4 specifically or not.

[SOGo] ANN: SOGo v1.3.4

2010-11-17 Thread Ludovic Marcotte
The Inverse Team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of
SOGo 1.3.4. This is a minor release of SOGo which focuses on small new
features and improved stability over previous versions.

=== What is SOGo ===

SOGo is a free and modern scalable groupware server. It offers shared
calendars, address books and emails through your favorite Web browser or
by using a native client such as Mozilla Thunderbird and Lightning.

 * Rich Web-based interface that shares the look and feel, the features
and the data of Mozilla Thunderbird and Lightning
 * Improved integration with Mozilla Thunderbird and Lightning by using
the SOGo Connector and the SOGo Integrator

 * improved performance of live-loading of messages in the webmail
interface
 * fixed a bug that would not identify which calendars must be excluded
from the freebusy information

 * increased the contrast ratio of input/select/textarea fields

[SOGo] No events displayed in the web interface

2010-11-17 Thread Adi Kriegisch
Dear all,

I installed SOGo 1.3.3 on Debian/Lenny with Funambol 8.7.0 (and connector)
using a Postgres database on a dedicated database server and everything
seemed to work just fine.

The trouble started when I created an event on a Nokia N900 and copied it
over to SOGo via Funambol using Syncevolution. The webinterface is unable to
display any event from the personal calendar anymore.
Interesting enough: A caldav client (KOrganizer with caldav plugin) as well
as the N900 does display the event and Funambol syncs the event on any
other client as well; just the web interface crashes with the following message:

| 2010-11-15 18:36:10.071 sogod[10193] <0x0x925a840[PostgreSQL72Channel]:

The event itself looks like this (from sogotool that is as well able to
read the event):

...right after deleting the event on eg. the N900 and syncing it to SOGo all
the other events are showing up again in the web interface. (deleting only
sets "c_deleted" to 1 in the database)

Is this a known bug? Any workaround for this? Anything I should try?
Thanks for your help!

PS: I tried all the verbose logging options mentioned on
http://www.sogo.nu/fr/nc/support/faq/article/how-to-enable-more-verbose-logging-in-sogo.html
and all I got were the SQL statements right before the crash. They all work
fine and result in reasonable responses; I tried them manually in the
database.

[SOGo] 4 questions from a newbie

2010-11-17 Thread Yokav

Hello,

I'm a newbie with funambol, I discovered it recently.

I'm using:
CentOS 5
SOGo 1.3.3 (with mysql db for data + login)
Funambol 8.7.0 with Funambol SOGo Connector v1.0.8

Here is my 4 questions:
1. When I create a new email, something strange happen when I write the
email address...it becomes very slow. But it only happen when I write
the email address, not when I write the content.

2. When I read my emails on Thunderbird, sometime it takes several
seconds before to "open" the content of the email. How is it possible,
my emails are stored in local. Maybe related to my 1st question.

3. When I add a new event and use funambol to syncronization it, it's
id(c_name) is not the same as others one (write and syncronize from
Thunderbird). Is it normal?

ie: c_name from thunderbird into the database "6134-4CD09100-5-763BDC00"
c_name from funambol into the database "158"

4. If I add a new event with funambol or the web interface, it will not
appear into Thunderbird, I've to delete a local "cache" file.

Any reponse is welcome, thanks for your help!

Best regards,
Yokav.

Account Settings -> Account actions -> Set as default

As Wolfang says:
However, you must make sure that the username you are using is the same as for your default email
account. Also, you need to ensure that that account really is marked as default in the account prefs.

Everytime SOGo ships a new release, I wrote a mail "FYI" to "Heise.de"

Ok if you think my idea was ridicolous, I'll accept that. I imagined a system
where experiences in deploying such services on larger scales and typical
german implications can be exchanged. If you think that this list is well and
sufficient for that purpose I'll accept that opinion.

When do you rebuild new addons? Can you notify it?
I'm sorry, I did not want to hurry you but i need to update my customers ;-)
Thanks

Sorry, maybe addons are new yet? I see now time of fixing and addon
modification time.

Re: [SOGo] German-speaking usergroup of SOGo?

2010-11-17 Thread Martin Rabl

Hi,

I'm not so really happy about this.

Sure, it's easier to write in our own language, but for the people in
Spain, Italia, France, Quebec ;-), China, Japan too ...

It seems, there are many german speaking users in users@sogo.nu, which
will be missed in the discussions (and solution-providings ;-) ), I
think.

Also, the SOGo-community is not as big as (i.e.) the php-community,
which did the split in 1998 (long long time ... ) - there it made sense.

But, I would join a german speaking list in addition to us...@sogo.nu.

Greetings,
  Martin

Are there other SOGo users in Germany, Switzerland, Austria
deploying or planning to deploy SOGo in their institution?

We at the university of Constance/Konstanz do offer the SOGo service
already to all our students, staff members and professors/teachers.

Operating System is CentOS 5.5.

If there's some interest to share experiences and to look at each
other's setup/solution I would be fine.

We'd join the list. We'd provide a list if that is needed.

[SOGo] built SOGo-1.3.3 broken on Ubuntu

2010-11-17 Thread Erik Myllymaki

I followed the build instructions here:

http://www.sogo.nu/english/nc/support/faq/article/how-do-i-compile-sogo-2.html

Lots of warnings during the builds but no errors.

When I start SOGo I get the following in the log file:
