This last error could be from the absence of the metadata, however,
not being able to obtain the metadata is a showstopper unless there is

[SOGo] Up-to-date guide for Sogo install or ZEG re-creation?

2013-06-18 Thread m-sogo
Hello all, I'm a recent new fan of Sogo, and I'd really like to deploy as an
Exchange and Active Directory replacement. I am impressed by the product, the
activity, and the functionality. It's looking awesome.

I have tested the ZEG, but now I need to build my own installation on Ubuntu,
for the following two reasons:

- The available Sogo 2.0.5a ZEG VM is built as 64-bit VM and requires VT-x cpu
support on host, which is not available for me
- ZEG has the stated limitations (no SSL, etc) which I will need
- No clear guide is available on how to re-configure ZEG to make workable for
production use

I must say that I am very surprised at the lack of current documentation/guide
for deploying Sogo. Doesn't this represent a fairly huge hurdle for acceptance
and use of the product? I understand the ZEG is intended for entry-level
evaluation, but what about the average guy who wants to actually deploy Sogo in
production? I have been using Linux for many years, and perhaps consider
myself of intermediate to advanced expertise. After searching and finding all
the issues that other (perhaps more skilled) people are having installing Sogo,
and finding no current/thorough official guide, the Sogo (and supporting
software) install seems very daunting and unappealing at the moment.

I am aware of Olivier's guide at
http://iabsis.com/EN/article/35/Installation-de-Samba4-et-Openchange-sur-un-serveur-Debian-ou-Ubuntu
Many thanks to him for putting forth the effort. But I ran into problems
right off the bat, compiling Samba. And I have found a number of other
outdated guides or work-arounds, including the thread on the list here on how
to reconfigure ZEG for a real domain.

I am not sure where to go from here? I really want to use Sogo! It seems
great! Could we get an official response from Inverse as to the recommended
approach to achieve a production deployment of Sogo on Ubuntu? Basically how
to reproduce the ZEG, but for production?

Thank you!

[SOGo] postgresql issue

2013-06-18 Thread Terry Welch
I'm trying to setup a second mail server using sogo and postgresql. I
wanted to make this an exact duplicate of the current mail server so I
yum installed postgresql and this is the message I get when I try to
browse to https://mail.amh.com/SOGo

I think the issue is that the user sogo does not have permission to the
db sogo. Any ideas on how to check this or what else could be the issue?

[SOGo] emClient?

2013-06-18 Thread Ben
I'm getting tired of Thunderbird / Lightning as being, well, old and
clunky and lightning having annoying bugs
(https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=865726 for example). Has
anyone tried using emClient (http://www.emclient.com/)? I tried it
briefly and it seems to handle out of the box calendar / addressbook
(ldap caldav), freebusy, and of course email. I'm curious what
experiences others have had with it. Has anyone switched to it from
Thunderbird?

emClient is free for home use, but the pro version isn't. They do have
pretty aggressive volume pricing so it isn't too bad for a larger
deployment.

Thanks,

Ben

[SOGo] SOGo and postfixadmin?

2013-06-18 Thread Michael Vogel
Hi!

Is it possible to use postfixadmin as a source to authenticate users?

Since postfixadmin is using different field names than SOGo needs I
thought about creating a view for that.

The only question then is if postfixadmin uses a password encryption
mechanism that SOGo does understand.

Is there one? Should a view work?

2013-06-18 Thread Ron Scott-Adams
So, it seems the web interface does work, the emails were just delayed in being
sent to the test accounts. They come through quickly enough now. So, iOS and
Apple Calendar seem not to work, whereas the web interface does as it should.

Yes its posible. I am using sogo + postfixadmin.

If your main server fails with Sogo and Openchange which directories/database
