[SOGo] Install Script
Hello, I am trying to install sogo ZEG via the install script on line from Peter. I am testing the server on a private network. I cannot seem to get it working, however. When I add my domain as "domain.local" it cannot resolve the domain. If I add my domain as "domain.com" it goes to my ISP domain name server and requires me to open TCP 80, which I cannot do at this time. Navigating the browser to local ip causes the server to forward to external domain name. Please advise how I can install the ZEG via the script and allow me to test the webmail via local intranet. Thanks, WT -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
Re: [SOGo] Samba4 fails to join domain
Yes I was aware of the member server issues, which is why I was attempting to join as a DC. I have one correction to make. My original servers were 4.0.9,but I had upgraded them to 4.0.10. To make sure that the domain didn't have some other issue I have added a 3rd 4.0.10 DC with no issues. I guess that this means that the Samba4/OpenChange packages in the yum repo are a non working solution. At least for integrating with an existing domain. They may well work as a single standalone server. I was hoping not to have to start building my own packages, but I guess that I will have to start to look at that. I have SOGo itself integrated with the domain and am happy with that side of things. Users login to the SOGo web interfcae with their domain credentials and Postfix/Dovecot use the domain for email addresses. Unfortunately Outlook integration is essential for us if we are to use SOGo. I will report back if I find a working combination. Thanks Mike Quoting Wilken Haase : I got the same results when I tried to integrate samba into our AD. Basically there is some stuff missing and other stuff not working in samba 4.0.x which is needed for samba beeing a member server. I found myself affected by several bug reports in samba bugzilla and backporting all needed stuff was rather non trivial and time consuming. Samba 4.1 fixes nearly all of my problems (some small odds left with no sysvol replication, seldom synchronisation problems concerning tombstones), so I've got a working condition for sogo AD integration. I did not try to compile openchange against samba 4.1 up to now since connecting outlook is more a gimmick here. I think you should try out a newer samba version and then try to compile openchange against that one, the success possibilies are tremendous higher. I must say I'm quite impressed. ActiveSync seems to be working very well, and so far seems to be solid enough that we can use it in production. However, documentation could be a bit more organized, so here's the idea: I'll try to sum all the usual mistakes on a page in the SOGo wiki. Allow me some days for this, I'll try my best. On the other hand, I agree that the SOGo community needs a point of reference for Z-Push just like Inverse is for SOGo. Best, Corrado Fiore Thank you very much for the link! Seems to be working perfectly! Someone really should update the SOGo wiki (unfortunately I am unable to create an account: I fail with the TextCha...). On 19/10/13 18:42, Mark Pavlichuk wrote: I'm interested in what could be causing the following SOGo Integrator problems and/or how to troubleshoot these: 1) On my first startup of Thunderbird after plugin installation I get exactly 10 certificate dialogues stacked one on top of the other... I just click through accepting them. On my second startup of Thunderbird things start working fine - ie. correctly working calendar and addressbooks, but then after restarting Thunderbird again each addressbook now appears twice, but my calendar remains working OK. These duplicate addressbooks only appear on Thunderbird and not in the web interface. The duplicate addressbooks work normally however. If I'm using the 24 nightlies things stay this way (i.e working calendar and duplicate addressbooks), but if I'm using the 17 versions Thunderbird begins hanging after I restart a fourth time. On the server I'm using Cyrus (imap/tls) and Postfix, both authing against LDAP. The LDAP server requires TLS + client side certs, though Thunderbird doesn't need to directly connect to LDAP, correct? I've tried a few more things : * I've added the CA cert to Thunderbird, which gets rid of the 10 certificate prompts. * If I restart Thunderbird twice so that the calendar and addressbook work correctly as described above, then remove Integrator (leaving the connector installed) things remain working fine during subsequent Thunderbird restarts (ie. required addressbooks and calendar remain installed, and no duplicate addressbooks get created, and the hanging issue doesn't happen). -- Mark Pavlichuk Strategic IT ph.
