[SOGo] ANN: SOGo v2.2.12

2014-12-18 Thread Ludovic Marcotte
The Inverse Team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of
SOGo 2.2.12. This is a minor release of SOGo which focuses on improved
stability and small new features over previous versions.

 What is SOGo

SOGo is a free and modern scalable groupware server. It offers shared
calendars, address books and emails through your favorite Web browser or
by using a native client such as Mozilla Thunderbird and Lightning,
Apple Calendar and Address Book (Mac OS X and iOS) and Microsoft Outlook.

SOGo is standard-compliant and supports CalDAV, CardDAV and reuses
existing IMAP, SMTP and database servers - making the solution easy to
deploy and interoperable with many applications.

SOGo features:

 * Scalable architecture suitable for deployments from dozen to many
   thousand users
 * Rich Web-based interface that shares the look and feel, the features
and the data of Mozilla Thunderbird and Lightning
 * Improved integration with Mozilla Thunderbird and Lightning by using
the SOGo Connector and the SOGo Integrator
 * Native compatibility for Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013
 *

Two-way synchronization support with any Microsoft
ActiveSync-capable device (Apple iOS, Android, Windows Phone,
   BlackBerry 10) or Outlook 2013

 * Excellent native integration with Apple software (Mac OS X and iOS)
   and Android-based devices

and many more! SOGo and our connectors are completely free.

 Changes from the previous release

*New features*

 * allow including or not freebusy info from subscribed calendars
 * now possible to set an autosave timer for draft messages
 * now possible to set alarms on event invitations (#76)

*Enhancements*

 * updated CKEditor to version 4.4.6 and added the 'Source Area' plugin
 * avoid testing for IMAP ANNOTATION when X-GUID is available (#3018)
 * updated Czech, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Polish and Spanish
   (Spain) translations

*Bug fixes*

   EAS (#3003)

Native compatibility for Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013
Native, in the connection in outlook

Through MAPI - I think. It needs Openchange.

Or to be used for this OpenChange connect EAS Outlook?

I think Openchange not necessary for EAS only.

Note that ocsmanager/rpcproxy (required for RPC over HTTP) is still in
limbo for this release. The OpenChange Debian packages (which we use)
still aren't ok in this regard and we'll have a look soon.

Nonetheless, native Outlook compatibility is working with RPC.

I think Openchange not necessary for EAS only.

But EAS only available in Outlook 2013, so 2003 2007 2010 isn't native
compatible without Openchange...

Does this mean python-ocsmanager cannot be currently configured properly?

Haven't tried it yet. It misses for sure the goodies to make it simpler
to use. I might have time this afternoon to test it, I'll report my
findings.

python-mapistore isn't available so OCSManager won't work.
openchange-rpcproxy isn't available so the WSGI script isn't available
for rpcproxy.

We might want to start using again our OpenChange packages while Debian
ones are fixed.

How soon can we get a decision on that?

I can build everything up to the OpenChange/OCSManager configuration.

Again: /etc/init.d/openchange-ocsmanager start does not work (pg 13 of
the Guide)
