Hello,

New here, so be patient with me if I am in the wrong place.

I have 150 people with whom I would like to share one address book, on their
mobile phones. We set up a gmail account, but with gmail's security settings
when someone logs into an account on their mobile phone in Canada, US,
Germany, South Africa, India, Australia, etc, all on the same day it locks the
system out. It believes the account has been hacked. We need to keep changing
the password all the time to make this work for a little while.

If we were to use SOGo would we be free of this problem? Would it allow us to
sign up 150+ people from 35+ counties around the globe and all freely use the
push contacts without locking us out?

Thanks
Kcir

Yes.

SOGo supports shared address books, so can yo can decide if access is read-only
or write.

By "push access" do you mean write privileges for all of your users?
If yes, they all need an account at your SOGo server.
Then you can share your address book with them and give them write access.

If no, then you can give public read only access.
This means everyone who knows the URL to the address book can access and
read it.

Access to one account is not limited in itself.
You can access it from all countries, with multiple client systems and
different clients at the same time.

As far as I know, there is no limit, but it takes ages to finish the sync.
I had a user which had to sync for 5 days, till he had all events.
After that he could use the calendar.

No, but there is an open enhancement request for that.

I am just guessing here.
Sounds like a defect harddrive to me.
Did you check your smart values for that drive?

Which version of SOGo are you using?

What does the following command give you?
sudo -u sogo /usr/sbin/sogo-tool dump-defaults

What is uncommented in your sogo.conf file?

[SOGo] iPhone calendar event limitation

2015-09-14 Thread Stephen Ingram
Has anyone run into a limitation on the number of calendar events that may
be synced from SOGo to the iPhone using CalDAV? One of our users who has
years of events stored seems to have hit a limit and the phone is no longer
able to sync new events. I've read online of a 25,000 event limit, but
can't seem to verify this.

Since I'm guessing SOGo still requires the sync all setting on the iPhone
in order to function properly, is there any way to truncate previous years'
events using sogo-tool?

[SOGo] Issues with Sogo connector in Thunderbird

2015-09-14 Thread Egoitz Aurrekoetxea
Good morning,

I have been doing some checks with Contacts in Thunderbird. It seems when you
eliminate a folder in a contact (example, organization, phone… etc…), is
properly replicated and eliminated from all carddav clients but
not on Thunderbird/Sogo connector. It does not remove the field set to blank in
other carddav clients. Later if you change something in the contact in
Thunderbird, that previously removed field, is again replicated to all
clients, because Thunderbird/Sogo maintains it in the contact.

It would be fine this to work successfully,

Thank you so much,
Best regards.--

Re: [SOGo] Creating an Event on Oct 24th creates it one hour early

2015-09-14 Thread Tilman Schmidt
Most probably that endless source of trouble: daylight saving time.
2015-10-25 is the date for switching back to regular time in the CET
zone this year. This is the earliest possible date according to the rule
currently in effect, so it might well be a boundary condition in SOGo's
code to determine the last Sunday.

[SOGo] sogod worker filling up memory

2015-09-14 Thread Josef Škurek
Hello.

One of /usr/sbin/sogod workers filing up WHOLE memory.

in /var/log/sogo/sogo.log that process PID logs
Sep 14 11:07:34 sogod [8883]: 192.168.106.2 "GET /SOGo/ HTTP/1.1" 200
4281/0 0.036 11290 62% -748K
Sep 14 11:07:39 sogod [8883]: <0x0x7ff663705cf8[NGImap4Client]> Note: no
key found for sorting, using 'DATE': (null)
Sep 14 11:08:38 sogod [5475]: [WARN] <0x0x7ff662ed87b8[WOWatchDogChild]>
pid 8883 has been hanging in the same request for 1 minutes
Sep 14 11:09:38 sogod [5475]: [WARN] <0x0x7ff662ed87b8[WOWatchDogChild]>
pid 8883 has been hanging in the same request for 2 minutes
Sep 14 11:10:38 sogod [5475]: [WARN]

and the warning about hangup repeats on and on. I always end up killing
the process, but another pops up with the same problem, always with the
message

Note: no key found for sorting, using 'DATE': (null)

preceding the process freeze(insanity?), but so far for different users
connecting through web interface

google-fu found
https://forum.zentyal.org/index.php?topic=23256.0
indicating it is somehow connected to user settings?

Any ideas besides constant kill?

Thank you

Re: [SOGo] Creating an Event on Oct 24th creates it one hour early

2015-09-14 Thread Jens Erat
Hi Markus Schönhaber,

this is (somewhat) a regression of a bug we had some time ago.

Appointments in the week before switching back to standard time are
created one hour earlier by the SOGo web calendar GUI, but also
displayed one hour later (so inside SOGo, everything's fine).

CalDAV clients on the other hand display the appointments on the date
that's actually stored in the event's sources.

I created a bug report accordingly:
