[SOGo] activesync fail to connect
Hi, I have been fighting with a chronic issue on 2 iredmail installations using sogo (sogo-activesync-3.2.10.20180226 and sogo-activesync-4.0.7.20190306-1) for some 10 users with Iphones using activesync to connect, get their email and sync their calendars across devices. after a few days of working all users stop to syncing and I come to find lots of errors of corrupted cache table and the log say: ...sogo_cache_folder is marked as crashed The only way I found so far is to delete all records from the table and do a repair, kill force all sogo children and restart all again. maybe this is a configuration issue I can fix easy? Any ideas how I can fix this? -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
Re: [SOGo] Question regarding OpenChange package on Xenial
Hi Carsten, On Thu, 07 Mar 2019 at 11:23:09AM +0100, Carsten Pieper wrote: referring to https://sogo.nu/files/docs/v3/SOGoNativeOutlookConfigurationGuide.html#_installation, it says in Chapter 5 I have to install sogo-openchange and several more. I do not find anything regarding sogo-activesync there. OpenChange uses MAPI for accessing the SOGo server and that's a complete different way compared to Exchange ActiveSync (EAS). So, am I right with the following thesis: "SOGo v4 supports Outlook/ExchangeActiveSync via installing the package sogo-activesync, i.e. following https://sogo.nu/files/docs/SOGoInstallationGuide.html. That's correct. It is not necessary to follow the NativeOutlookConfigurationGuide, neither for v3 nor v4, to have Outlook connected to SOGo without any plugin." If your Outlook supports EAS and EAS has all the needed features, then yes. But for what do I than need the Native Outlook Configuration Guide? I would say: in case your Outlook doesn't support EAS, EAS doesn't support a needed feature or if you prefer to use CalDAVSynchronizer etc. for some other reason. Re: [SOGo] Question regarding OpenChange package on Xenial
Hi, That guide is about connecting outlook through MAPI, which requires OpenChange etc. But seems to be a path that is going nowhere, and we never used/tried it. The better way to connect outlook is over ActiveSync, and after setting that up, you will also be able to use ActiveSync on all kinds of mobile devices. Plus activesync in sogo is very actively maintained.
