Re[3]: [SOGo] sending using different "from" email - how to setup?

2022-06-29 Thread "Bret Watson"

Its set, but I'm now suspecting something in the underlying iRedMail is messing
things up.. I had to add the domain aliases at the db level for iRedMail and I
think that has had an impact

Chasing this down on thier list and will update here what I find.

Hi Brett, Do you have the domain property set in sogo.conf ?
SOGoMailCustomFromEnabled = YES; If this is not set, then when you try and
create an identify the text entered will be red, and the 'OK' button will
remain greyed out - I've confirmed this behaviour in my environment.  Make sure
this property is set, sogo restarted and let us know how you go. Regards Martin

 Hi Bret,

If you are looking at using multiple domains, then yes, you you do need
to create a new mail account in Sogo which references an IMAP server,
which can be the same IMAP server hosting your other domains.

If you are wanting to use different aliases on the same domain, then you
just need to create identities under that mail account in Sogo, and this
will allow you to define the sender address when composing an email.

if the event doesn't have a reminder - you won't get one... have you tried
creating an event with a reminder to test?

We have SOGo 5.6.0 with mysql 8.0 on FreeBSD.

Sogo is used with EAS in Outlook.

Thanks for your answer.

a quick message off the list, because I don't want to advertise publicly.
I use the mail server suite "mailcow" (https://mailcow.email) in which
SOGo is also integrated.
Here, alias addresses are automatically created in SOGo if desired.
Maybe this is an alternative for you.

best regards

Hi Juergen,
they are set as aliases and have no issues receiving into my mailbox.. just
that I am stuck replying with the main email - no way apparently for SoGo to
allow me to change it. As I said - SoGo stops me, not the underlying mail

 Hello Bret,

this depends not only on SOGo but also on the underlying mail server.

So that a SOGo account can use different sender addresses, these
addresses must also be created at least as aliases for the respective
mailbox on the mail server.

Since this process is different for each mail server, I have to refer
you to the documentation for the mail server you are using.

[SOGo] sending using different "from" email - how to setup?

2022-06-14 Thread "Bret Watson"

Trying to work out how to do this..
google workplace could allow me to register multiple domains/emails into one
account and then choose which one I was sending an email as.

SoGo appears to be able to do this, but the moment I change the "from" email it
goes red and refuses to let me send... Doco seems to want me to have a separate
imap host to allow this?

What is the correct way to allow different "from" addresses?

Thanks

Check the SOGoMailJunkSettings configuration parameter:

https://www.sogo.nu/files/docs/SOGoInstallationGuide.html

The only option for the moment is to automatically send the messages to a
specific address.

Hi Bret,
As far as I know, SPAM filtering is not performed directly my SOGo. It must be
configured in your MTA and IMAP Server, normally as a third party add-on such
as RSPAMD, Spam Assassin, or others.
If you installed SOGo as part of a packaged solution they might provide a SPAM
filtering tool in the package.
Thanks,
