What effort/resources would it take the team to port SOGo to macOS?

[SOGo] iCal Error when creating new calendar in macOS 10.14

2019-09-16 Thread "Sam W. Klambour"
*1)* In Apple's iCal (aka Calendar.app), when creating a new calendar,
the following message appears:

*2) *However, the calendar is being created anyway

*3) *But, when trying to delete this calendar in iCal, the calendar is
being duplicated each time one choses to delete it. So you will end up
with more and more calendars you can't delete.

*4) *Yet, when going to the SOGo webmail on the same Mac, one can *a)*
delete these calendars and *b)* create new calendars without any issues.

*5) *Does SOGo have an issues with the iCal clients of macOS 10.14.x?

Anyone having seen this issue with Mac clients too?

best,
Sam W. Klambour

Hi Ludovic,

since creating a new calendar is a common task for the users, could you
possibly fix this. iCal (= Calendar.app) is in widespread use among the
Mac users around the globe.

Sam

It should thus be fixed at your earliest convenience.

Hi Götz,

can we do something to motivate the SOGo Team to fix this bug?

It's kind of odd to have to tell users that they can not create/delete
calendars in iCal (aka Calendar.app)

Cheers

Hi everybody!
I have the problem of having "endless" (a view hundred) shared
calendars in SOGo.
When we try to delete one entry, another entries are created with
leaving the old one.

What I've found is, this is a bug maybe in the mac calendar app.
So far so good.
I tried many things and nothing worked. So I endet up in editing the
SOGo mysql database directly.
But when I edit the entry in the table "sogo_user_profile" column
c_settings, the complete old entry is restored when the user logs in
per SOGo-webinterface.

Then the hundreds of shared calendars are back again.
Any hint ?

Re: [SOGo] Delete User's Default Calendar or clear its Content

2020-08-18 Thread "Sam W. Klambour"
Thanks Marcus, but cadaver was last updated 2009. So I was looking for
some other tools.

Turned out SOGo has its own tool:*

1)* I have had the following idea:

*sogo-tool -v truncate-calendar an...*

Usage: truncate-calendar USER FOLDER DATE

USER the owner of the calendar folder
FOLDER the *id of the folder* to clean up
DATE UTC datetime - non-recurring events older than this
date will be removed (ex: "2016-06-27T17:38:56")

*2)* So, I was looking for this folder ID:

mysql -u root -p
show databases;
use sogo;
show tables;
SELECT * FROM sogo_folder_info

+-+--
| c_folder_id | c_path
+-+--
| 1 | /Users/ma
| 2 | /Users/ma
| 3 | /Users/an...
| *4* | /Users/an
...

| 15 | /Users/an
| 19 | /Users/ha
| 21 | /Users/ad
+-+--

*3) *I then again run the truncate command

sogo-tool -v truncate-calendar an... *4* 2020-08-18T20:01:56
Folder '4' of user 'an...' not found.

*4) *What is wrong with folder id 4?
Am I wrong to look for this ID in the sogo mysql database?

Any help appreciated.

you could connect to your SOGo instance [1] with a caldav client like

A simple "rm *" might do.

I seem to remember that thunderbird/lightning has a list view, which
might allow to select all entries and delete them all at once.

Re: [SOGo] Delete User's Default Calendar or clear its Content

2020-08-19 Thread "Sam W. Klambour"

First of all: *
Thanks* for your hints, Christian and Marcus.

sudo sogo-tool restore -l /home/xyzadmin/sogo testuser
...
2020-08-19 14:30:04.610 sogo-tool[5098:5098] Restorable folders:
2020-08-19 14:30:04.611 sogo-tool[5098:5098] Calendar/personal (Default)
2020-08-19 14:30:04.611 sogo-tool[5098:5098] Contacts/personal
(Personal Address Book)

*0)* Based on your hints I have now put together a complete truncate
command.

As for the ID of a folder, as I now understand, it's actually a path: It
not the path actually

Do I need to include the user name in the path?
Do I need to include a leading forward slash in the path?
Do I need to include a leading and ending forward slash in the path?

Non of the ID combinations, I have tried below, yet are bearing fruits.
But I might have overlooked something that is only obvious to you
Christian and Marcus?

*1)* sudo sogo-tool truncate-calendar testuser Calendar/personal
2020-08-19T14:00:00

Folder 'Calendar/personal' of user 'testuser' not found.

*2) *sudo sogo-tool truncate-calendar testuser /Calendar/personal
2020-08-19T14:00:00

Folder 'Calendar/personal/' of user 'testuser' not found.

*3) *sudo sogo-tool truncate-calendar testuser /Calendar/personal/
2020-08-19T14:00:00

Folder 'Calendar/personal/' of user 'andrealtmann' not found.

*4) *sudo sogo-tool truncate-calendar testuser
testuser/Calendar/personal/ 2020-08-19T14:00:00

Folder 'andrealtmann/Calendar/personal/' of user 'testuser' not found.

*5) *sudo sogo-tool truncate-calendar testuser
/testuser/Calendar/personal/ 2020-08-19T14:00:00

Folder 'andrealtmann/Calendar/personal/' of user 'testuser' not found.

*This works:* One has to ignore Calendar/ and simply use *personal
without *any slashes too

*6) *sogo-tool truncate-calendar testuser personal 2020-08-19T14:00:00
Removing 2642 records...
Removed 2642 records.

*Thanks* again
