Hello,

But which script should I run?

sql-update-2.2.17_to_2.3.0-mysql.sh
Or
 sql-update-3.0.0-to-combined-mysql.sh

I tried to run 3.0 but it did not work for me:

the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right
syntax to use near '0' at line 1

Hello

You need to upgrade at least your database schema first!
While doing that your sogod must be stopped.

Which means you have to stop sogod.
Make a backup or snapshot.
Then upgrading all SOGo packages.
Afterwards run the matching shell script (mysql for MySQL database, the
other for postgresql).
I would also advice to remove the SOPE packages and reinstall them when
changing to version 3.
Then restarting memcached and starting sogod again.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

It depends:-)

If you just want to use an email address, which the user has not in his
account, then you need only a version, which supports changing it.
We have used this with earlier versions than 2.3.17 (sorry, don't
remember, when exactly we enabled it).
Only if you want to be able to set one of the email addresses of the
user too, then you need 2.3.17.

On the V3 demo site from Inverse this function is not available.
Not sure, if it is not implemented or just disabled though.
I did not yet test this function in V3 myself.

BTW:
Since SOGo 2.0.5 you should have switched to using sogo.conf instead of
GNUstepDefaults.
I once had problems with another setting before changing this.
Especially using sogo-tool will not work without sogo.conf.
Therefore you should switching first.
A HowTo is included in the documentation in chapter "10. Upgrading".
If you still can not change this setting, then upgrade.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

PS:
I would upgrade anyway, as 2.3.17 provides a lot of additional functions
and fixes a lot of bugs.

RE: [SOGo] Sogo change "from address" from GUI

2016-11-04 Thread "Raido Rinaldi"
Hello,

The key in sogo config SOGoMailCustomFromEnabled has been in my
config since I started using SOGO (few years ago). I have restarted my
server multiple times, but still can not edit email address from
preferences. So I think restarting sogod and memcached have no effect in
here.

I am not sure, 2.2.13 already had that functionality or not.
But the field always looks greyed out.
Can you edit the field after restarting sogod and memcached?

There was a fix recently, which prevented setting email addresses which
belonged to the user already.
This will be part of the next version if I remember correctly.

Re: [SOGo] lost calendar after 2.3 upgrade

Hello,

you need to run database upgrade script. See sogo upgrade instructions.

Re: [SOGo] Can not run sql-update-2.1.17_to_2.3.0-mysql.sh

2015-06-05 Thread Raido Rinaldi
Remark: I upgraded to 2.3 from 2.17a if it makes any difference.

2015-06-05 4:22 GMT+03:00 westlake westlake2...@videotron.ca:

here i updated a system from squeeze to jessie debian which I merely just
ran two alter statements for each calendar table.

if you look at the script you get the main sql select statement to
determine which tables need later updating.

first get the calendar table/s that need updating,
 select SUBSTRING_INDEX(c_quick_location, '/', -1) from $indextable where
 c_path3 = 'Calendar'

here I had two calendar tables so i had to apply these following two
 commands for each one
ALTER TABLE $table MODIFY c_partstates mediumtext
ALTER TABLE $table ADD COLUMN c_description mediumtext

you can find out what is $indextable by seeing which table has c_path3

if you're using mysql client it should be relatively easy

 eg,
 \r sogo
 describe tables;

 and then try the first,
 here for me it was

describe sogo_folder_info; // and this one showed me c_path3 ,

so to list what the calendar tables are you use the __folder_info table,
which in my case it was sogo_folder_info

 select SUBSTRING_INDEX(c_quick_location, '/', -1) from sogo_folder_info
 where c_path3 = 'Calendar' ;

result for me was two calendar tables
 sogoadmin000_quick
 sogowlake111_quick

the alter statements then looks something like this,
 ALTER TABLE sogoadmin000_quick MODIFY c_partstates mediumtext;
 ALTER TABLE sogoadmin000_quick ADD COLUMN c_description mediumtext;

the same two commands again but with the other calendar table

 ..
Hope this helps to fix the problem with updating -- I suppose you're using
a debian-based system similarly to the one I'm using.

not to be rude but is calendaring reminders supported on the sogo
server? I asked this on the mailinglist yesterday but got no reply. I
thought it was not so an intrusive question but of its simplicity a good
 yes or no would do.

 thanks

Ludovic can you make this kind of script for me that drops c_descriprion
colums before (if they exist) and then continue rest of the script? I am
not very good at sripting.

I know but for some reasons several of the quick tables in my database

 came from.

Most likely not from SOGo - there was absolutely nothing that ever
referenced the word 'c_description' in SOGo prior v2.3.

I also have used only stable releases. Fabrice please let me now as soon as
possible if you discover something useful. I need to get calendars working

Most likely you were running two instances..

One from the nightly build, one from the release - all connected to the
  same database.

Some resources were created by the nightly builds and thus, would
  contain the c_description column.

I've only ever been running the stable releases for ubuntu using your
repository. Maybe I try to run the update script while sogo was also
 running, I'm not sure.
