[SOGo] Sogo debian 8.1/jessie

2015-06-09 Thread Ian
So I decided to reinstall sogo to see if that would fix my problem. Can
someone tell be what packages I should be installing for Debian/jessie,
and what the apt sources.list should be (I have tried deb
http://inverse.ca/debian jessie jessie but that doesn't work.) Should I
just use the packages in the normal stable debian distribution?

Thanks,
Ian

Hi,

if this doesn't work, its not available for debian 8, debian 7 is an lts
release, so its supported till 2018.

Indeed, but it says here
http://www.sogo.nu/nc/support/faq/article/how-to-install-sogo-on-debian.html
that jessie is supported. I (rather naively) assumed it would work, but:

W: Failed to fetch http://inverse.ca/debian/dists/jessie/InRelease
Unable to find expected entry 'jessie/binary-i386/Packages' in Release
file (Wrong sources.list entry or malformed file)

Ian

Are you trying on i386 or x86_64? Jessie is only supported on x86_64.

Debian jessie is supported only for amd64, there no i386 folders. in the
official repository, not now at least maybe they change their mind in
the future

you will have to build the packages yourself.

Thanks. Strange though that there's a sogo package in jessie:

# apt-cache search sogo
fusiondirectory-plugin-sogo - SOGo plugin for FusionDirectory
fusiondirectory-plugin-sogo-schema - LDAP schema for FusionDirectory
SOgo plugin

sogo - Scalable groupware server
sogo-common - Scalable groupware server - common files
sogo-dbg - Scalable groupware server - debugging symbols
sogo-openchange - Scalable groupware server - OpenChange backend
xul-ext-sogo-connector - transforms Icedove into a full DAV client for
groupware servers

..there's also the apt-cache policy which would outline
which package editions are available from differing repositories as well
as which one was used for installation.

i would of assumed the i386 build would be coming so I didn't bother to
file any bugreport, but after seeing the responses it looks like support
for i386 has been dropped permanently.
