Did you switch Thunderbird to Offline mode and on again?
Or did your network fail temporarily?
The first should work.
If not, open a bug report in Mozillas Bugzilla for Lightning.
The second can disable a calendar (displays in light colour).
Double click the calendar in question and set Activate this calendar.
Then restart Thunderbird.
Or it displays a yellow warning sign after the calendars name.
Then you have to go to the Preferences and Reset Calendar Cache.
Be aware, this will restart your Thunderbird automatically.
