Installing SpamAssassin on AIX
I am attempting to install SpamAssasin on an IBM p-Series machine running AIX 5.2. System Information: Hardware: IBM RS/6000 43P model 150 (7043-150) 512Mb Ram 2 9Gb SCSI disks Software: AIX 5.2.0.2 gcc 3.3.2 for AIX 5.2 (gcc-3.3.2.0.exe) perl v5.8.0 built for aix-thread-multi I downloaded Mail-SpamAssassin-3.0.0.tar.gz from the apache site. Following the instructions in the INSTALL file, I unpacked it, and ran the following commands: cd Mail-SpamAssassin-3.0.0 perl Makefile.PL make and I get the following error: /usr/bin/perl spamc/configure.pl --prefix="/usr/opt/perl5" --sysconfdir="/usr/opt/perl5/etc/mail/spamassassin" --datadir="/usr/opt/perl5/share/spamassassin" --enable-ssl="no" cd spamc /usr/opt/perl5/bin/perl version.h.pl version.h.pl: creating version.h spamc/configure.pl: version.h.pl: Failed to get the version from Mail::SpamAssassin.
