Off-topic? Off-list!

2010-02-25 Thread Karsten Bräckelmann
Sometimes I wonder, at which point in a lengthy *off-topic* discussion I
should start so slap people on the wrist, and tell 'em to go play
somewhere else and find a list where it is bloody on-topic.

A short digression every now an then of course is OK. Why not. But a
lengthy, tiresome and eventually heated off-topic discussion -- is not.

I know I'm tired from repeatedly deleting clearly off-topic posts
without even caring to open them. Wonder how the majority of subscribers
feels about it.

Please, guys, let it go. If you *know* this ain't the right place, stop
it.

Well, there was a posting with some spam-related SPF stats the other day
that proved very interesting. And relevant to how I might want to score
SPF in my SA config. But yeah, it's otherwise getting a bit opinion-heavy
and repetitve. Let's drop it an move on

Hey, you snipped the part where I explicitly said that occasional
off-topic threads are ok. :) As you said, as a data point it wasn't
that off-topic anyway.

I am about that irrelevant, lengthy and still ongoing (!) thread that
clearly doesn't belong here.

Guys, behave. Don't make me stomp my foot (Homer Simpson).

LOL would you believe that someone in my girlfriend's computer class
actually *said* to the instructor that famous Homerism, "Where is the

ANY key?" Yes, really. And they are old enough to vote Brrr
