RE: [ot] If you see this domain in spam....

2004-10-13 Thread Chris Santerre
Exactly. Sometimes you have nothing to go on but the 'feeling' that you are
being fed a load of horse crap. Even some of the people who always cry for
whitlisting on SURBL felt a little fishy about this one. So we give the
benefit of the doubt for the first time. But if we find you did feed us a
load, then yeah you get pounded back to the stoneage.

NO domain is added to SURBL on 'feeling' alone. There is a hell of a lot of
work that goes on. And for some to make a flipit comment about me trying to
use SURBL for my own morality gains pisses me off like you wouldn't belive.
And I'm willing to defend against that statment all damn day!

And Chris, if they do spam, we need to crucify them this time.
 Not just
the domain, let's do a lookup of every domain the company owns and add
them as well...

Matthew,

It's not a morality thing! It's just we're tired of being spammed by
shady people.

Which is exactly why I'm asking for a spam that contains this. How
was that missed in my message?

You don't like the domain and now you're soliciting spam that
contains it just so you can block it. That constitutes partiality.

Partiality towards spam? I won't list it unless it is spam. I guess
you
 are
not on the whitelist group, so you have missed the entire discussion
we
 have
had with this domain. We have been in close contact with the
owner. We
 have
 actually already removed them.

So you might not have all the facts to judge me on some sort of witch
 hunt.
I'm sorry if my initial email looks that way.

I'm asking for people to keep an eye out for this one. What, now I
can't
mention any particular domain that I'm interested in
listing? WTH kind
of
logic is that? If you think this is so cut and dry then go ahead and
make
your own SURBL server. You will soon find yourself adrift in a sea of
grey
 like the rest of us.

It simple, they got on the list. They begged, kicked, moaned, and
talked
their way off. They still look somewhat spammy. I'm asking for people
to
watch for them. If they don't spam, they have nothing to worry about.

 End of story.

I have a very strict rule. Any website that features a picture of the
owner is regarded as worthless.
