I created the eval back in 2.6x to do spell check and create a spelling ratio. The bad thing is, there are a lot of bad speller out there. There are also a lot of things we use in email that just arent dictionary words. SpamAssassin, IMHO, web URI's etc etc... I tried doing many common filters for URIs, accronyms, abbreviations, and such but could never produce a reliable result. And not to mention, its very bad on system resources to spell check email at the server level. This is something for the client level and should remain at the client level. If you want to waste your time on this.. Go for it! All the luck to ya :) Dallas -- Dallas Engelken NMGI

But keep thinking of new ways. This idea did seem good at one point. But after everyone discussed it quickly was poo poo'd. :) --Chris

No, it's been suggested before, and tested.. the FP rate was rather high. Bear in mind all the "legitimate" email from AOL users that can barely spell their own names, and choose to use extensive chat-room shortcuts and slang in their emails whut u doin l8er? Search the archives.. Someone comes up with the idea at least twice a year.
