Dirtlink has been doing this randomly for a month or more now. I've had
bunches of complaints that people can't send me mail because of 'due to
extended inactivity".

I tried sending the dirtlink admin account some earthlink phish the other
week so they could shut down the sites, and had it bounced back because the
admin account "due to extended inactivity".

Chris -

I strongly suspect that Earthlink has begun to do some strange anti-spam
stuff - and don't quite have the bugs worked out. We got this this morning,
for the first time ever:

   - Transcript of session follows -
... while talking to mx1.earthlink.net.:
>>> MAIL From:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> SIZE=6052
<<< 550 550 Dynamic/zombied/spam IPs blocked. Write
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
554 5.0.0 Service unavailable

and we're on a T1, with rDNS for everything, and not on any of the dnsbl
lists. They delisted us within a few hours. Better give them a call...

Due to extended inactivity new
mail is not currently being accepted for this mailbox.

I'd certainly call up earthlink. Who knows what other mail they're bouncing.

I don't use spamhause cbl.abuseat.org blocked it for me:

Same thing. The XBL pulls most of its data from the CBL, and Spamhaus'
SBL-XBL list is simply the union of the SBL and XBL lists.

This is not the only list this has happened to. We are on a Qwest outage
notification list that uses ezmlm as well and they too were listed
yesterday. They are on a completely different server and IP than Apache.

Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the
users@spamassassin.apache.org mailing list.

Messages to you from the users mailing list seem to
have been bouncing. I've attached a copy of the first bounce

If this message bounces too, I will send you a probe. If the probe

bounces,

I will remove your address from the users mailing list,
without further notice.

I've kept a list of which messages from the users mailing list have

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at apache.org.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following

This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

It looks like hermes.apache.org (apache.org mail server) was listed for a
little bit. The entry was removed already. :)
