don't confuse questions with complaints

the only real complain for that rule is that numbers are ignored in case 
of the subject is a serial number of a device or something similar

 considered multiword...

An underscore is considered to be a word character so that's not
surprising. 

But the test is actually for a whitespace character in the subject, a
trailing space would do.

Bug 5859 [1]. In particular, have a close look at your own me too
comment 1.

What is the point of this post? You do know it's a bug, you do know it
is on record. That's where this issue should be handled. Constructive
comments and patches welcome. Venting and whining on the users list will
not get you anywhere.

I'm not sure what you mean, but there can be any number of encoded-words in a 
field, using different encodings and character sets, and mixed with ordinary 
7-bit text. See RFC 2047.
