autowhitelist off but used?
I inherited this site/email system in which autowhitelist had been running but spam and ham never properly marked so I believe all email to be auto-whitelisted.\\ I turned auto-whitelist off with: use_auto_whitelist 0 However, I found this in a header: -4.4 AWL AWL: From: address is in the auto white-list Why is AWL still being evaluated? I can confirm that /spamassassin/auto-whitelist file stopped updating when I set the user spec to 0 (SA 3.1.1 running on a shared server, auto-learn disabled, HostGator.net) 1611mac - gregS

You might want to comment out the line that loads the AWL plugin in v310.pre. However ... SA 3.1.1 That's nearly 7 years old; and probably the real source of your problem.
