Re: Meaning of LoadModule jk_module libexec/mod_jk.so in httpd.conf
well, well, well, seems you're becoming a running gag here in the list. did your read http://tomcat.apache.org/connectors-doc/ as I suggested previously? if so, did you *understand* it? if even so, did you find the link within the document pointing to http://tomcat.apache.org/connectors-doc/webserver_howto/apache.html? did you read it? did you understand it? if not, what's the part of the docs you didn't understand? rgds gregor -- just because your paranoid, doesn't mean they're not after you... gpgp-fp: 79A84FA526807026795E4209D3B3FE028B3170B2 gpgp-key available @ http://pgpkeys.pca.dfn.de:11371 - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@tomcat.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@tomcat.apache.org
RE: Meaning of LoadModule jk_module libexec/mod_jk.so in httpd.conf
Thanks, for your answer. But, I could not understand how to make the module mod_jk.so so that it gets placed in the path $APACHE_HOME/libexec as the documents you mentioned are not very clear on that. regards -Original Message- From: Gregor Schneider [mailto:rc4...@googlemail.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 04, 2009 9:18 PM To: Tomcat Users List Subject: Re: Meaning of LoadModule jk_module libexec/mod_jk.so in httpd.conf well, well, well, seems you're becoming a running gag here in the list. did your read http://tomcat.apache.org/connectors-doc/ as I suggested previously? if so, did you *understand* it? if even so, did you find the link within the document pointing to http://tomcat.apache.org/connectors-doc/webserver_howto/apache.html? did you read it? did you understand it? if not, what's the part of the docs you didn't understand? rgds gregor - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@tomcat.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@tomcat.apache.org

So I presume there's already a mod_jk.so in place - or not? In case you're referring to your old server, please make this clear. The documentation is actually very clear on making mod_jk - you just have to read, understand and - most important - also follow the links in the documentation. I know it's time-consuming since there are tons of docs for either Apache and Tomcat. However: We all had to learn it the hard way through the docs since nobody is born as an Apache / Tomcat-expert. To give you a start, take a look here: http://tomcat.apache.org/connectors-doc/webserver_howto/apache.html (btw., this is a link I'm now already posting at *least the 3rd time*...) Now scroll down and take a look at the following paragraphs: - Obtaining mod_jk - Building mod_jk on Unix You might also want to take a look at the paragraph Installation. And I *completely* disagree with you that the docs there are not very clear.
