I will be. Primarily for routing VoIP services, to start, but will
implement it for http and https as well.

This is a good question. I don't use them. Who on this list would use
them?

I don't think I've ever seen any programs (other than Microsoft
Active Directory) that specifically state it supports SRV records...

Does this require a patched tinydns?
No, it uses the generic record syntax.

There is one thing I would like to have added. I use my own template,
because then vegaedns fits perfectly in my CI. But with each update I
have to do a diff to find out which templates where changed. Could you
add this information to the changelog?
I guess I could be more specific about changes affecting templates. But
personally, if I were maintaining custom templates, I would not upgrade
*without* doing a diff first, rather than on relying on the changelog.

Thanks for your work, I am very glad to have vegadns.

You're welcome.

All,
I have posted VegaDNS 0.9.8 to http://vegadns.org. This will likely be
the last release before 1.0, unless anyone finds any problems. Please
help test if you have time.

Installed it and it all looks OK, it lets me enter an ip where I should enter
a domain, but why would I want to do that anyway?

I don't think an IP address is illegal (I didn't bother to check). The
trick is to get a cache to find it. ;)

Yay! :) I'll install this tomorrow afternoon and let you know if
there are any issues...
I installed this today and everything appears to be working fine.. No
issues detected thus far :)

diff -u vegadns-0.9.7/templates/ vegadns-0.9.8/templates/

will reveal all

I briefed over the RFC for SRV records.. It sounds like an interesting
way to deal with services, but how widespread is it's use? I don't
think I've ever seen any programs (other than Microsoft Active
Directory) that specifically state it supports SRV records...

Does this require a patched tinydns?
