3-5 Years’ Experience in HP Nonstop (Tandem) environment, working with
increasingly complex applications and databases. Extensive use of
COBOL/SCOBOL, SQLCI (SQLMP databases), TACL, and Net batch. The Application
Developer is responsible for the analysis, design, construction, testing,
and implementation of business and technical information technology
solutions through application of appropriate software development life
cycle methodology. The skills progression identifies responsibilities
ranging from basic programming assignments to being able to function in a
single discipline to advanced specialty disciplines such as
assembly/integration, cross-discipline functions, data engineering,
industry expertise, knowledge engineering, legacy evolution, or system
infrastructure
• Applies specialized knowledge in a single discipline such as
assembly/integration, cross-discipline functions, knowledge engineering,
industry expertise, or legacy evolution.
• Interacts with the customer to gain an understanding of the business
environment and technical context.
• Validates scope, plans and deliverables for assigned projects.
*EDUCATION: *
Education and Experience equally evaluated for relevance
· 3-5 Years’ Experience in HP Nonstop (Tandem) environment, working
with increasingly complex applications and databases.
· Extensive use of COBOL/SCOBOL, SQLCI (SQLMP databases), TACL, and
Net batch.
*PREFERRED SKILLS:*
· Experience in HP Non Stop (Tandem) environment, working with
increasingly complex applications and databases.
· Extensive use of COBOL/SCOBOL, SQLCI (SQLMP databases), TACL, and
Netbatch. Work often with interfaces to other platforms and technologies,
such as SAP, Oracle, etc., more frequent in recent years.
· Strong understanding of networks, firewalls, terminals &
workstations, output devices, how equipment and application are used. Great
teamwork, relationship and communications skills are critical. Applicant
will participate on projects as needed. Additional Comments: Operating
Control System (OCS) is a Mission-Critical application with a very small
team. Applicant will maintain 24/7 availability, resolving issues
immediately or as quickly as possible to minimize or eliminate exposure or
loss. Collaborate with users and Business Analyst and/or Business
Engagement Manager on all projects to ensure specifications are well
understood and accurate before making any changes. Leverage existing
technology and methodology whenever possible.
· Apply depth of knowledge and experience to avoid needless
research and effort, finding the shortest path to successful changes for
the lowest cost.
