*Summary:*

The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for designing, developing,
supporting and communicating data in support of the health, availability
and performance of the SQL Server database environment to peers, management
and business owners.  This individual will be responsible for delivering an
excellent customer experience.  Providing business critical information.
 Researching and interpreting quantitative and qualitative information to
provide root cause and solutions to performance challenges.  This
individual collaborates with process owners, business managers, technical
peers and project managers to leverage the use of data and data strategy
across a full spectrum of business needs.

The Senior Database Administrator must possess the technical and business
aptitude to identify, analyze and evaluate complex issues; perform input of
multi-source business and technical data points, including trending and
exception data points as a means to provide technical solutions which will
drive increased throughput, performance and stability of the SQL Server
database environment.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years SQL Server DBA
experience and be considered an expert Senior Database Administrator
resource for a contract position.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*

   ü Excellent verbal and written communication skills
   ü Experience with VLDB's (> 2 TB) for both OLTP and OLAP workloads
   *ü Extensive experience in SQL Server 2008, 2008R2
   **ü* *Expert in Replication: transactional, snapshot and merge
   ü Knowledge of SQL Server services SSIS, SSAS and SSRS is required
   *ü Experience with Windows 2003, 2008 and 2008R2 in multi-instance
   enterprise environment
   *ü Experience with large quantities of transactions on an OLTP workload
   *ü Resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues,
   replication, and other distributed data issues.
   ü Perform backup and recovery for production enterprise systems
   ü Provides reporting, monitoring techniques and analysis of performance
   and partners with the Server, Networking and Storage groups to provide root
   cause analysis, performance trending and capacity planning
   ü Author documents as they relate to database process, scheduling,
   design, etc.
   ü Create t-sql solutions for custom monitoring and alerting to include
   reporting, maintenance and management of the SQL Server database environment
   ü Summarize and present results
   ü Perform the triage and analysis of support requests related to
   production and non-production databases
   ü Perform database upgrades including non-production environments and
   testing
   ü Provide expert recommendations on query optimization
   ü Provide 24X7 on-call support (rotating schedule)
