SQL Database Administrator Columbia, South Carolina 3-6 month project with likely extensions. * Scope of the Project: * A Database Administrator will be provided to assist the South Carolina Department of Education’s (SCDE) programming staff with the development of operational data stores (ODS) that will be used to feed data to SLICE (South Carolina Longitudinal Information Center for Education). Development of these data stores will include designing data models for each data store as well as coding the SQL scripts that will be used to build each data store. This DBA will be expected to understand how to connect SQL scripts to SharePoint 2010. *Daily Duties / Responsibilities*: · Design, implement and test data model(s) for the data warehouse. · Develop ETL procedures and scripts for SLICE data sources. · Research and recommend ETL tools and procedures to be used to support SLICE project. · Maintain the data design documents and data stores for SLICE. · Coordinate with Developers to ensure SLICE data models are in sync with data models elsewhere in the agency. *Required Skills * · 6+ yrs of Relational Database and SQL Server experience · 6 + yrs Exp with development tools MS Analysis Services, MS Excel and SQL Query Manager. · 5 yrs of SQL Server 2005/2008 experience is a must. · Must have current experience using SSRS and SSAS *Preferred Skills * · Knowledge of public education and South Carolina Department of Education's mission, programs and objectives as well as FERPA compliance is helpful.
