Position: Quality Analyst Location: Uptown Charlotte, NC Duration: 3+ Month Open-ended *Position Summary*: A Quality Analyst is expected to have a working understanding of the client’s application landscape and the Life Reinsurance business to be able to deliver software solutions successfully. This understanding requires the ability to transform technical specifications to actionable master test plan requirements with the further technical ability to execute upon these testing requirements. This requirement includes the ability for identifying, analyzing and communicating software defects and assisting with resolution. Advocate for and the enforcement of process and procedures within the software development lifecycle (SDLC). *Major Responsibilities (Essential Functions)*: · Active participation in design meetings to gather/document software testing requirements from business units · Develop the quality assurance requirements and strategies that span the product development life cycle · Prepare and implement QA plans that include project documentation reviews, functional testing and systems testing · Actionable technical understanding of the client’s software platforms with the ability to design, develop, and execute SQL based manual test cases · Develop/document project task activities from software testing requirements · Self-management and accountability for completing project deliverables as per agreed upon project timelines · Proactively addresses project risks and blocking points to ensure timely/quality delivery of custom software solutions · Identify, analyze and communicate product defects and assist with resolutions · Develop and implement methods and procedures for automated and manual product testing · Design and build an inventory/regression test bed of repeatable test cases · Evaluates and reports test results · Performs risk assessments and process improvement · Must be comfortable working in a team environment and support users · Other duties as required for the position *Test Efforts: * · Functional / Integration / Performance / Regression testing · Oracle Database testing (design, develop and execute SQL scripts) · QA Project Management (must meet schedule timeframes) *Specific Duties:* · Create Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Scripts · Design, develop end-to-end Regression Test Scenario library · Evaluate financial impact · Test script automation · Provide organized leadership direction to Business-side Testing Resources as identified · Status updates to Project Management as required · May perform other duties as required. *Experience and Education (Minimum Requirements)*: · BA/BS degree or equivalent · Must have minimum of 2-5 years total QA Testing / Programming experience · Must have in-depth experience creating test scenarios, test plans, test cases and test scripts · Must have experience conducting functional, integration, performance, regression testing · Must have experience in designing, developing and executing Oracle Database SQL scripts · Financial / Accounting experience · Must have experience working with the Business users · Must have experience coordinating/updating test estimates, time frames, etc. · Must have SDLC background · Must have strong oral and written communication skills. · Insurance / Re-insurance experience, preferred. · Certification, preferred. · Programming / Development experience, preferred. · Project Management experience, preferred. · Mercury Test Tools, preferred.
