Full Stack Developer - Job Description
Seeking a Full Stack Ruby on Rails developer that helps design and build
web apps and services focused around our highly specialized valuation,
authentication, certification and procurement processes.
*Duties*
- Plan, design and develop new features and applications to help improve
accuracy and proficiency of the company’s processes.
- Maintain existing systems that are used company wide to valuate,
procure, authenticate, sell watches.
- Support users of our systems so they can use them correctly to
increase efficiency in their jobs
- Discover ways to improve the technology to help improve the business
processes
- Write and maintain reports used by the management and users to track
person and company wide status and goals
- Help when needed and possible in the maintenance and support of the
the IT systems of the office
- Help guide, train and support new developers both on site and third
party
- Maintain servers used for internal application including deploys,
updates and ensuring uptime.
*Skills/Qualifications*
- 2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common
libraries such as RSpec
- 10 years of experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with common
libraries like JQuery, Bootstrap, Foundation and Angular.
- Familiarity with Linux and supporting applications (i.e. Apache,
Nginx, IPTables, etc)
- Experience designing clean, maintainable, well-documented REST APIs
- Ability to write code that is easily maintainable and expandable by
others
- Ability to read, maintain and expand code written by others
- Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable
application
- Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL
- Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
- Proficient understanding of Git and Github
- Familiarity with continuous integration
